I have zero insurance for anything, apart from whatever if anything I get with my bank account, and my tv which is in the sky package.
Royally screwed if anything goes wrong.

"No."
Apart from my car, obviously.
I cancelled my dogs insurance last year, she had a massive limp removed and I ended up paying nearly half what with all the excesses and small print.
Cat cost me 250quid last week, but that was the first time in nearly 14 years, so cant grumble x |

Car, pet, buildings & contents, some mortgage thingy from years ago which needs increasing. Used to have phone insurance
Have claimed on most of them at some point. House insurance has been a life saver with 3 big claims in 13 years

"Other than my car I have insurance on my washing machine 1 or 2 years?
I think it's a rolling one, can stop it whenever but that is one appliance I can't do without. " how much do you pay, is it a washer dryer? |

Not much ~ less than £15 a month. It's just a wm. |

Nope apart from the car, for example when my son moved into his flat I bought him a small fridge for £100 and was asked if I wanted to pay £50 for insurance, I was like “ £50 a year for a fridge that only cost £100? I don’t think so” My mother used to pay a monthly thing for Sky and had paid it for years, we had trouble with our dish and only paid an all in fee of £80, gawd knows how much she had paid over the years, so no extra insurances for me |

Always used to insure the car fully comprehensive as it wasn’t much more than third party fire and theft. That was until I looked at the excess that was more than the value of the car, so they were never going to pay out anyway. |

I do find the extended warranty useful on electrical goods, but never buy it.
A salesman pointed out to me that the cost of it is a good indicator of reliability.
Always had Hoover appliances but got unhappy with the reliability. It was pointed out that three years extended warranty on a Hoover washing machine was £299. Four years on a similarly priced Bosch machine was £89.
Obviously the Hoover warranty was more because it was almost guaranteed to have a claim whereas the Bosch wasn’t. Still got the Bosch machine now and it must be ten years old. |

If pipes burst, house caught fire etc I don't have thousands to replace everything I own
or hundreds if accidental damage to furniture/flooring etc
I'd rather pay £6 a month, it's literally a couple of coffees |

I have house insurance as the mortgage provider demands it but other than insurance for cars (or other legal requirements), other than that I don't insure as I can generally repair most things myself. |

Only have travel insurance, and on any appliances that have extended warranties for free.
I used to have house insurance and have claimed a couple of times in the past but the premiums they are asking are so insane that i would have to make a claim every year to justify the cost. |

No insurance on anything except what's legally required.
I run my own business and all my insurance, motor, public liability, employers liability etc etc is what I have and that costs me £8000 every year. I think that's enough for those insurance people.
Never had phone, life, pet insurance or any extended warranty. The only insurance I get is when I go motorbiking in a foreign country as I think that's when I might need it sometime.
I think I've saved money over the years except for mobile phones. One time I got through 3 phones in 2 years

CONTENTS insurance .... £100 excess
you can choose the value of contents you want to insure
go on comparison sites and check it out. I will point out I'm in a low crime village and until last year obviously had over 8 years no claims. |

I've got insurance for those things I can't afford to repair or replace... life, home, car. I've got free mobile phone insurance through perkbox courtesy of work... oh and breakdown cover because I'd be well and truly shafted without a car.
Don't bother with pets... that's a cost I'd have to suck up if I ever needed to, and certainly wouldn't bother for appliances. |

Insured for everything. Have claimed on contents insurance, when we were burgled whilst on holiday and had a burst pipe at the same time, so claimed on house insurance. Claimed on travel insurance when taken ill on holiday. |

I'm insured on my washer for less than 5 a month. Had washer over 9 years the repairs thats been done cost more than the washer and I've not had pay an extra penny for them. Eventually they will have replace the whole washer.
It's had new rubbers, many new drum paddles, new board when it fried, new door locking mechanism when that fried, had pump repairs, they've come out to unblock the outlet pipe inside by the drum. Without a washer I'd be screwed and the insurance is worth it. On average I'm without a washer for 3 days before it's repaired.
Everything else I'd be fucked, my hoover broke days after extended warranty ended just typical. |

I have car insurance and house and contents but no others.
My parents often suggest I take out life insurance, I'm a bit worried they might want to bump me off. |

Absolutely.
Excess for pet insurance is £100
Claimed £14,000 in the last 9 months of the policy.
Personally I think pet insurance should be mandatory, it’s selfish owners who won’t pay that end up costing the animal it’s life when the shit hits the fan.
I see so many people trying to crowdfund their vet fees, it’s sad to see. |

Just because people don't have pet insurance doesn't make them selfish. I don't understand why more people just don't save the amount they'd be prepared to pay on insurance each month. If I was paying pet insurance I would have claimed £600 in 20 years. I shudder to think how much I would have paid for 3 cats in that time!! |
