"The situation over there is actually quite serious right now.
Families locked down and needing permission before they can go out etc."
Exactly, I don't think this a laughing matter. This could be us in a couple of weeks. |

My sister and her family live in Milan. I was due to visit at easter, delayed from Christmas, I've not seen her since 2012.
I worry more about her than myself, she's the only person on earth I can't go a day without contact: I have family and a partner but she's special.
So sorry op, it may be a joke to you, not to me. |

"Yeah my friend says her Italian relatives are very worried they won't get hospital beds as its taken up with Corona patients. Its quite bleak in Italy as they are quarantined in their own homes "
My sister made that point saying selfish people didn't seem to care or realise there are other illnesses etc that require hospital beds and if people don't stay indoors the hospitals will be overwhelmed.
There are no weddings or funerals allowed at present. How will they cope with the dead bodies? |

Why not show a little compassion and empathy for people living that nightmare
A lock down could well happen here, I don't feel anyone is in a position to judge or mock that
Having a heart condition I take longer to fight of coughs and colds so no, I don't want it and support what the governments are trying to do to minimise the risks of spreading it.

They are coping very badly. Read today about a middle aged brother and sister who are locked in self isolation together. The brother is sick. The sister died a couple of days ago. The authorities cannot do anything to move her body at the moment. |

After today’s COBRA meeting. This could be the reality in the U.K.
all schools closed. Concerts. Sports events cancelled. Travel restricted.
Will you still laugh then?? |

"They are about to escalate procedure over here.
Get ready for lockdown, it is coming.
Schools and work to be closed first."
Very much doubt they will close my work, there is no way of me working from home....well you know where I work and what they're like for not listening to rules and regs, it's a law unto itself. |

I doubt BoJo has the balls to shut down to the extent Italy have been forced to do, it's a bit late if you ask me but yes life is about to change here for a while; hopefully it will be over sooner rather than later |
