Bit of a drive for you. But I would highly recommend the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire. Defo worth the drive. Over 300 memorials the look at if you’re into history. Even more different trees, plants, and wildlife if you’re into that. And just a huge area to walk around in.

Ish, but this one has memorials on remembrance throughout. Falklands, St Johns, RNLI, D-Day, Navy. The lot. And right at the heart is a huge circle wall with the name of every person who has died in military service since the Second World War.

Bristol or Bath , Cheltenham ? I found the south so boring other than the SW and you’re pretty close. I’d be driving there at first light if I lived in Swindon , running across moors and beaches, checking out art and doing some winter surfing !
