This really gets my goat.
Curvy is a shape, not a size.
So you can be slim, average, sporty or fat and curvy.
I don't understand why it's been used to describe a size recently (not just here, in loads of places) |

Meh, more body shaming.
To me curvy just means exactly that. Someone can be big and curvy, athletic with curves, slim and curvy.
I describe myself as curvy, I get messages to say I'm not, I'm athletic .. as if it's a bad thing to be curvy.
All the curves, all the angles, all the roundness and softness, sculpted, firm or not. Wouldn't it be just great to lose the shaming part!

Some people are just unpleasant.
I agree with Ember, curvy is a shape not a size. |

I think curvy on Fab means shapely in a typically sexy way. Decent boobs... smaller waist... shapely hips.
Prior to fab I understood curvy as a polite way.of saying fat.
BMI etc... says I am morbidly obese... so (I think) I put fabulous as my description.
I wouldn't consider curvy as obese though. |

Curvy is boobs hips & bum in the lovely sexy female form. Doesn't mean fat or overweight. Curves are what attracts me to a girl be they thin, BBW or anywhere in between. Nice pert boobs & a round arse squeezed into tight jeans is absolute curvy perfection. |

"Im down as ample as round wasnt an option
I had a baby 4 months ago, im still carrying baby belly plus food belly "
Wow, lovely photos, definitely ample ( more than a hand full of boobs there) just a little jealous here !
As for your baby belly please be proud of it and the job it did for you, there is too much pressure on women to bounce back to pre pregnancy shape these days.
I see curvy as a definition of womanly shape but agree it is used as a size guide quite a lot on here.
The problem is that there are so many ways to describe a persons size and shape that it’s difficult to cover all bases on the profile categories

I was given grief off a woman on a social media site as I said I was curvy. She said that it was an insult to curvy people and really annoyed her as I wasn’t a size 16, and as a size 10 I couldn’t say I was curvy. I politely pointed out that being curvy is nothing to do with a dress size, but a body shape. My sister is a size 4-6 with perfectly proportioned curves,
Years ago I posted a pic, saying embrace your curves and was asked if I actually meant fat. I was a size 12, but the guy was a conceited prick mate of my ex and hated me as it meant my ex wasn’t there for him 24/7 anymore.
Mean people will attack you for how you describe yourself, and try to attach a negative connotation to anything, they just need to get a life!

Oh such silliness, we all have curves. Thats what makes us all so beautiful. |

Yeah I'm totally obese.
Honestly half of fab calls me fat and the other half argues with me that I'm not curvy so you can't win. Best just to stop caring what others say about a silly fab category that doesn't even matter if you've got body pictures on your profile. |

Curvy Is a shape.
I am curvy albeit my curves are very large ones.
Some slim girls are curvy. Some fat girls are curvy. Some are just apple or boy shaped and have no curves.
That's why I hate it when a man describes himself as curvy.
I'm fat curvy |

Always thought of curvy as an extra few pounds.
But I’ve seen women on here that say they’re curvy but are in great shape almost athletic or average/slim.
So, I guess it’s completely perspective and preference.
Forget the haters. Be more you |

For me, and I mean me, not speaking for others. sexiness is an attitude not a body shape or size. It’s a combination of confidence in yourself, a kind soul and the ability to feel good about yourself and others.
Some of the most sexy and alluring women I’ve met and wanted to do unspeakable things to might in others eyes be a larger sized woman. Oh and I’ve met some attractive Hollywood clone shaped women who have been the ugliest people I've met.
Be who you’re meant to be and feel good about yourself. |

I’m curvy but a long way from obese. Used to use the athletic label on here but don’t do the exercise that I used to, so changed the label to avoid setting any false expectations.
I don’t think it really matters what label you use though, as long as you’re happy. If anyone says anything disrespectful then it’s their problem, if we all block them hopefully it’ll free them up some time to get a life rather than insulting others xx |

Everyone is beautiful in their own way, and body shaming is what is wrong in today's society, no doubt the person who said it, probably had no picture, as people like this love making comments but get emotional if anything is said back, if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all xx |

There’s far too much body shaming on here ! People shouldn’t feel the need to use terms like athletic or curvy. Once pics have been seen, others can decide if it’s what they’re into. |

I’m just ME. People and society can call me what they want. Curvey, Amazonian, tall, fat, chubby, lanky, muscley but ultimately all that matters is what I think and feel is right. I’m never completely happy with my figure and yo-yo diet all the time as well as play rugby go to the gym and swim but I’m confident enough to know I look good naked. Anyone that wishes to call me something that I don’t agree with (depending on the context) I would tell to f##k off. Just be you and stay happy and healthy. |

The status owner should try banging a fat bird! We bounce around more to burn a few calories and we probably have something half decent in our fridge for a snack afterwards!
Seriously though, whats with the body shaming? We all have our preferences and don't feel the need to comment |
