so the wording is this....
Sporting events in the sport regions of lombardy, Veneto and Emilia Romagna will be cancelled or held behind closed doors.....
plus sporting events involving teams from those regions held in the rest of italy will either be cancelled or held behind closed doors so that fans would not travel.....
basically any football team north of pisa is basically affected.... so rather than play some games with crowds and cancel others.... it makes sense to even out the playing field and play all games behind closed doors.......

they are not banning them so too speak games were cancelled as precaution due to northern Italy being hit the hardest with the virus ,with the lombardy region being the epicentre of the breakout. I'm not asking your opinions on crowds I'm curious as wether you can educate me on the virus itself as you seem to have alot to say about it |

not the way you are promoting it....
the limiting of mass participation gatherings in the areas affected IS and italian government decision......
the fact that games are to be held behind closed doors IS NOT and italian government decision, that is a decision made by the Italian Football Federation...
otherwise you'd have the situation that for example games in rome can be held with crowds in them against napoli for example... but not against milan!
it was going to get messy if you cancelled games held in the north but not in the south... or those in the south against teams from the north!!!
you'd end up having to cancel the season!!!!
this way they get to continue on with the season with as little impact, and games can still be aired on TV |

so for example the reason why the italy vs england 6 nations rugby game has been included isn't the fact that the game is being held in italy.... or Rome, because that is south of the line... but because people from all over italy would have travelled to that game
you may also look at the england vs italy footy game at wembley to possible also be cancelled because of potential italian fans coming over.... |
