"Snapchat, depending on someones preferences you can see their location.
Whatsapp and message, no chance because its all encrypted
Facebook too, probably also Instagram "
I believe theirs companies that tracks all social media discreetly as they claim to be designed to track your childrens activity (and cheating wifes lol) but requires the device to be rooted/jailbroken but not sure how to root a android device  |

Unless whatsapp has drastically changed their security, you can buy an app for a few £ where as long as you know the number it can track that phones conversations and it doesn't need to be rooted nor do you ever need to see the phone....quite scary.

if their is such device it must surely be controlled by the police, the WhatsApp app would have a permissions control that each device would have to agree to in the set up process  |

Even if I knew it I wouldnt say as I find the whole thing creepy as fuxk.
Nobody should be tracking another person like this and certainly shouldn't be able to read private messages.

It is most definitely illegal to install anything onto someone's phone without their knowledge to monitor their activity. It's easy enough to do, but I would strongly advise against it... unless you fancy a little jail time.

Yep and it's not a giant leap to think that some of that may well be that far removed from the truth.
If google can do it legally via something like Alexa then imagine what is allowed for state security.
We've all had ads turn up on Farcebook for something we've only recently spoken about that we would never normally talk about. |
