I go for a pair of nomex or Kevlar gloves tend to be what firefighters gloves are made from. I use to unload glass tubes from an 800 deg. C furnace using these although never actually handling the hot part directly. |

google Orca oven gloves
they are silicone and look like gloves you "can" get things out of a deep fat fryer with them (not that i would) lol
the pound shops do something similar that just fits over the end of the hands up to your knuckles |
