Not all Asian men are bad!!

Jump to: Newest in thread

By (user no longer on site) OP     over a year ago

Hi Fabbers

I am frustrated by the number of responses I had from women and couple telling me they dont trust Asian men and wouldnt go anywhere near them.

So annoyed by this stereotype and want to break it.

A friend of mine told me that it is difficult to do online and I would do better in clubs.

Any suggestions/Advice?

What caused this stereotype?

Thanks

Raj x

Presumably Asian men who were horrid helped cause the reaction.

Yes there is that stereotype, tbh we’ve met and played with a few Asian couples in the UK and India and all the guys been absolutely lovely.

Absolutely respect preference and types.

My point is about the poor reputation created by some Asian men by their behaviour.

You know what, I see this topic come up fairly regularly. I get we all have preferences and occasionally cultural differences but isn't it a bit lame to say 'dont meet Asian guys because we once met a rude one'?

I have met and spoken to several highly disrespectful white guys, yet I dont have a "no whites" rule.

Peter Sutcliffe was a lorry driver ... does that mean all lorry drivers need to be avoided because they are all murderers?

This is not a rant ... so please dont eviscerated me!

I have been with Asian men before. If they have the right attitude and tick my boxes then why not? Skin/tone, culture, belief system are not a preference to me. If I am speaking to someone and I feel a spark then well done them.

unfortunately it happens, that you are held back by you ethnicity and you feel pre judge by the action of your fellow Asian, but your fab profile is only a small portion of your personality and maybe a club and a face to face will let the real you show though more and maybe you can help change the "misconception" by your fellow humans it may be a long hard road and there will be a few bumps along the way, but good luck.

. It does seem on Fabs Asian guys have been stereotyped with a bad reputation.Sadly I felt I had to state on my profile I am Greek Cypriot born and raised in London as I often asked if I am Asian on Fabs as well as outside of Fabs.Last night I was at a club and 3 Asian couples came in they kept to themselves mostly but chatted to others including myself and yes one of the first things they asked was if I am Asian. All 6 were lovely , pleasant , social people.

OP we are also people with no preconceived ideas about meeting people who aren't the same race/ethnicity or whatever as us. I'm from a mixed background, but no one can tell due to my lily white skin. We've met an Asian guy off here, who was lovely. We'd meet anyone who ticked our boxes on the social and sexual side basically.

Honestly I avoid this topic like the plague but I will say my bit as an Asian guy, let’s be brutally honest people be it on here or in everyday real life don’t really have much positive things to talk or to say about Asian men in general. Is it fair nope, can it at times be disheartening yes but unfortunately it’s just life and frankly if I were you I wouldn’t bother dwelling too deep into it or asking why people don’t want to meet guys off our background and here is why you will never hear the end off it as it will practically be a never ending list off horror stories and criticisms being detailed in field like reports at everything from attraction/club encounters/sex/relationship/work related/day to day encounters or another gem referencing crimes committed by Asians guys or culture values etc blah blah so on...and you will be hearing that and then some as people seem to enjoy getting a kick out of coming out with that so ideally if you come across people who aren’t interested just stay well away/leave them be to save yourself from these conversations. Just quietly go swing clubs and have a good time and behave and who knows where it leads to. also I never really message anyone on here I just stick to clubs and interact with people there as I find real life interactions easier/more straight forward with people, hope this helped

I’m Asian and made a few amazing friends on fab.

1- Most men have a struggle on Fab. Too many men and few women in comparison.

2- Some women clearly state it’s an attraction issue. Which has to be respected.

3- You may find a few women who stereotype Asian men, but they are very few. Most women on the site are decent people with basically a LOT of messages to get through.

Not sure why you’d think this as everyone is different and you can’t tarnish everyone with the same brush regardless of where there from just remember everyone has there own preferences likes and dislikes and everyone has to respect each persons individually

I hate stereotypes because of race... I've been spoken to politely and rudely (not in a good way) by all races, race isn't something that would put me off but preferences being very different would or a poor attitude..

Happy fabbing OP

You are right that these prejudices may be unfair. Often, it's a matter of ignorance or stereotyping.

The majority of people are white which means the majority of encounters are white with white. Some may have never met another racial type and are uncomfortable with the idea, and you have to acknowledge their preference. Others may be tolerant and occasionally meet non-whites. However, the frequency of such encounters is small compared to white-white so one bad experience will come across as a high percentage. As a result, they'll have a negative impression. If they are unlucky to have a second bad meet, then it will only reinforce the opinion and they're not going to want to take the risk of more in future. Whereas two bad meets with whites will be compensated hopefully by lots of other good ones.

My advice is to get to know people by chatting online and don't give up out of frustration. While it is challenging, there are plenty of people here who do not discriminate based on race. It's also important to recognise that someone say no or ignore your message for any number of reasons and not because you're Asian.

I don’t understand how anyone can dismiss a whole ethnic group.

If a person does that then they need to realise they’re prejudiced and it’s not just “preference”. It’s time to stop letting people use that excuse.

I understand everyone has a type and nobody has a right to be thought of as “attractive”, but to dismiss billions of people you’ve not even seen or met is definitely prejudiced. If you have those views you need to address the reasons why.

To be honest I haven't felt any discrimination during my correspondence with people on here. At clubs too. I've met some great people here and look forward to in the future.

However people have preferences and that needs to be respected.

As a young woman, I was only exposed to white men, my community was predominantly white. I had no Asian or Black friends. Fast forward 25 years and my best friend now is Asian. I'm extremely attracted to people of all races because I'm more exposed to them now. Tastes in food, music, and sex is, in part, a result of imprinting. I think what I'm trying to say is that may be people have a preference to who they meet because of how they grew up and it's not because of race? I have met some bloody horrible white guys in my time on here and a few truly wonderful Asian guys. I will meet a guy I connect with no matter the colour of his skin. If he's nice, he's nice I'm rambling on here but hope you understand what I'm getting at?

. I do get asked a lot if I am Indian not just on Fabs but outside of Fabs.Yes I believe single Indian guys have been stereotyped in a bad way on Fabs but at the end of the day if someone has a preference for a black skin person or a white skin preference I don’t believe the first thing we should do is say it’s racist which some people do.
