?

Most of my skirts and dresses are lined, so no need for a separate slip - I would wear one though if it made a skirt hang better

Plus a full slip makes a handy nightie I went to a party and the dress needed a slip but later on I was asked to spend the night. So I ended up running around in just the slip xxx

I used to love wearing slips as nighties.

Absolutely. I tend to wear dresses daily and have found a slip indispensable.

I should have worn one on Friday, the dress I was wearing to work insisted on riding up all bloody day, thank God I had my knickers on

I think it's to stop the dress riding up when you don't want it to.

No you're not I wear a full or half slip under dresses and skirts. I wish more dress and skirt wearers would, it improves the line especially if you're wearing stockings or tights. It also stops that thing where the dress clings to the stockings and stops the dress or skirt losing its shape when you sit down.

Love slips but haven't seen them for ages. A favourite aunt of mine used to wear them mostly. And I found I loved wearing them too. The feel of the material is lovely.
