I dont think it matters what speed.. as its the distraction that counts..
As a speed freak I refuse to mention any such speeds I have done in car or motorbike..
Speed doesnt kill.. driver error does.

It certainly would, 30mph by the baths and it could be a schoolchild, 60mph on the Ossett by-pass and it could be a sheep or more sheep. |

i have to say, as boring as this may sound, i would never engage in any sexual act with someone who was driving, if they hit and hurt someone id never be able to live with myself, just for a few mins cheap thrill it could cost a life

we live in a rural area, you know the sort where bikers and speed freaks think it is fine to push limits becuase "no one " lives here...well we do, our children, our friends children do. A fun rural road to townies is the road my kids walk along daily. Hit them at 30 and they might survive, hit them at 70 and they wont.  |

Yes but its still the driver making the concious decision to speed when not appropriate... I cant say I never speed.. because quite simply how I have a clean licence is beyond me..
Having had bikes for many a year.. I am guilty of seeing how close to top speed I can get..but not in a rural area.. And to be honest I tend to push my cars mostly on the track...
What I mean it while speed on its own can be a contributory factor.. its the dick behind the wheel or handlebars that THINKS its okay to do that speed in that area.. that is MOSTLY to blame.
I have been pulled at 145mph... on a dual carraigeway, while It was quiet.. and yes I did get away with it due to a technical issue ( they couldnt prove the speed)
I had seen them.. but if I had SLAMMED on my brakes at that moment.. I was more likely to have an accident than if I slowly braked and let the car slow down...
See I knew how my car behaved.. most people dont... and are happy to drive at for arguements sakes 90, but have no idea how that differs on the handling or braking of the vehicle at that speed.. compared to say 60...
Braking at 130 (remember please that I do track days and most of my experience of speed comes from these days) is very different from breaking at 70.... and doing something at that speed can dramatically change how the car will behave..... People have the " it cant happen to me " mentality when driving at speed...
Well I think anyone that speeds often on the roads should go take a day at a track.. and get someone to safely show you what a high speed manoeuvre can be like... and to be honest I think that is why so many people that crash at even 60 make huge mistakes..
Simple thing is country lanes are not the best for going hell for leather down.. as you never know what is around the next corner... YES it was safe last time you went around it at 80... but this time their could be a tractor.. or a family out walking.. or anything.
So I still maintain that while speed contributes.. its normally the lack of experience when something goes wrong that causes the issues..
Its a bit like how many people have ever gone around a corner or roundabout then realised they are going a little to fast and dabbed the brakes and found the car suddenly is all a bit squirrelly ( love that word) ..... its simple physics..
And sorry for the long post..
btw I cant say I have ever given or received anything sexual at anything but the speed limit..
