Honestly, the gym is the only time I don’t ever want a woman to interact with me.
When I’m training - I’m training, everyone is an inconvenience...
I mean - I’ve never got a hard on training... maybe you go to the gym to perve & not work out? |

I'm a bit more misanthropic than you, but yes. In the gym, don't look at me, don't talk to me, let me train. |

"Where I go the treadmill is directly behind the steppers, lovely view x
I'd be amazed if they'd not had complaints about that. "
In my gym, I've just realised, everything behind the steppers faces the other way So if you wanted to stare it'd have to be deliberate and obvious.
That being said, most of the regulars on the steppers are old men. |

Oh no, I’m very much misanthropic too. Everyone is an inconvenience to me - I have my headphones in, training away. I am a man with limited time in the day - so when it comes to training, I want to come in. Get it done fast as possible & fuck off about my day!
But, a lot don’t share that picture. On their phones talking shite.

The Instagram trainer... can be both men or women who are more interested in the mirrors than training. Genuinely the pool of sweat underneath the bike or running machine when I use them makes everyone avoid me

Oh quite easily - but surprisingly the ladies that train at my gym - a good solid 80% of them take it very serious. I’ll look around and see maybe 2-3 on their phone.
It’s the guys that’s the worst! Come in with a group of 4 - talk shite & crowd 1 particular area! Normally the area I want!
So, I’d probably prefer working out at an all female gym.
Half the time I don’t even notice people in the gym - they’ll message me after asking why I didn’t say hello. |

I dont ogle the ladies at the gym either to be honest. We're there for a workout and I know I'm self conscious when I get a sweat on and imagine they might be the same so I leave them to it and they to avert my gaze |

I think lots of blokes will find at women atteactive and appreciate them in whatever guise they are in whilst working out. That's natural.
But getting erections in the gym? It's a bit nervy and worrying in my book. |

I've said before there is a big difference between noticing and staring and no one wants to be their gym's creepy pervert. But getting an erection or a semi from staring at women in the gym is fucked up.
Honestly when I read these threads or the women in lycra or the women running or all the other variations I just find them really fucking depressing. Ogling women, sexualising women doing normal every day stuff it's really not okay. And it's not the same as thinking nice arse or similar. |

Men will forever check women out. Doesnt matter if shes in the play park with her kids, out for a meal with her husband, dancing in the club with her girly friends, working out in the gym or sitting in a doctors waiting room.
What isn't natural, is getting a boner while doing so. That's the creepy bit! |

Some of the behaviour is disgusting. They should be embarrassed. |

No, just no. That's wrong. I get that guys check out the women, I see them looking at me sometimes, but a stiffy is not appropriate.
The gym should be a place where I shouldn't have to wonder if someone is going to be staring at me for my entire workout and it should be a place where I don't have to think about what I wear. Is that really so hard to do? I don't want to have to worry about whether my leggings are distracting you or if my crop top shows of my boobs ffs.

No, but I don't think it's the gym that matters. I think it's endemic. When I complained they told me that they'd banned two people a few months ago for objectifying women. And...they were reported by other men. Which is good. We need more feminist men. |

I've had a stalker in the gym who followed me to each station I was going to, pretending he's new and doesn't know how to use machines.. or when I was stretching on the floor he was asking me about what to do..
I spoke to staff who asked him to leave as I wasn't the only one who he was bothering. He's been a m_mber for a long time they said.
I felt weird walking home alone as it was dark and I didn't want to see him anywhere in the streets. |

At my gym a m_mber was reported to the police and banned after creating an Instagram page of stealth pics of women's arses. I think its endemic too, some of the conversations I overhear, some men are so lucky creepy |

I'm all for encouraging various forms of sexual desire and expression. But not at the expense of other people's comfort or perceived safety.
Sexual liberation comes when people feel safe to be liberated. |

I get stared at in the gym but it's more likely because I'm the only person in a wheelchair using the place. I get an audience when I'm towing a weighted-up prowler with my chair. I definitely don't go there to be perved at and I stare right back at anyone who I noticed staring. Helps that my PT is built a brick out-house is 6ft 6 and very protective of me |

I think when you say in your opening post "you can see everything they have" that olludes to staring.
But in all honesty if you genuinely think you are getting recurrent erections in the gym due to testosterone levels being so high you might want to see a doctor |

Maybe you need to se a Dr OP, and that’s not me being rude. I think it’s very normal to check people out but to actually get a stiffy as an adult I’m not sure that’s normal. Don’t get me wrong if I see a hot man with big arms working out I will definitely sneak a peak but generally I’m sweating my tits off and listening to music in my zone not fazed by anyone. |

See I always thought that when your body is under stress like during excercise that most other "non-essential" things shut down while all the blood was diverted to your muscles. Like how your digestion slows down. |

That's a bit of an over the top response, suggesting that the op seeks medical attention, what are you suggesting chemical castration??
Let's be honest 90% of the posts on here like this are pure fantasy and are a case of people speaking before thinking.
I don't condone inappropriate and damn right creepy activity.
But suggesting the op see's his GP is a bit much. |

Actually, if the OP is getting unwanted erections at inappropriate times, he may have a physical problem that needs addressing. So seeing his GP would be a good idea. |

I said further up, I couldn't give a monkey's, so long as they don't make overt sexual overtones to me. My main source of staring is my wheelchair in the gym. I am blessed to have a loving but very intimidating looking PT, who does things like set up my weights, hold my leg, drag me up off the floor and gives "piss off" vibes to creeps |

I said further up, I couldn't give a monkey's, so long as they don't make overt sexual overtones to me. My main source of staring is my wheelchair in the gym. I am blessed to have a loving but very intimidating looking PT, who does things like set up my weights, hold my leg, drag me up off the floor and gives "piss off" vibes to creeps
No i would get that people would sneak looks if that see a nice looking woman/man in the gym. Were human at the end of it but some people the way they go on is just beyond creep factor 10. Id love a peek at your PT now lol. and go you xxx"
Hehehe, he's about 6ft 5 or 6, a heavy lifter and rugby player. He's basically pure muscle though he's not attractive to me! We take the piss out of each other though and his pre workout stretches (trying to make bits of me move that don't want to) are more akin to torture. He's always there to stop me falling over or to literally hold my hand when I need it (eg using a step-up thingy). He's even come to physio appointments with me so he can learn more about my restrictions and needs. I couldn't ask for a better PT, honestly. |
