What do you look for?
I just viewed a house and was taken aback by the fact the home owner had moved out according to the estate agent and everything would be left in the property was bought.
There was medication all on a shelf, DVDs, CDs, clothes, watches, personal documentation, books, all sorts of odds and ends. It was like a jumble sale.
Kind of put me off a bit.
Especially when I saw a bloodstain on the dishwasher.
What do you go for? Large dungeon?
Big cupboard to store all your dildos?

That wouldn't bother me if the house was what I wanted.
I once went to see a house where the living room and stairs were papered with wallpaper samples about 2' long each. It also had little wooden frames all over with free McDonald's and kinder surprise toys in them.
It was eclectic! |

I've been looking at houses recently and I look if any work needs doing and the area.
I've noticed the estate agents don't take good pics of the property.
One I visited had a wall going all the way around the property and there was no pictures of it.
Anyways its doing my head in now and once I've find what I want I won't be going through it again.. That will be me for life. |

Be careful. Is it all in good nick? If you end up having to throw everything out it might end up costing you a few quid. Although you could just whack it all on Freecycle.
When I bought my house i spent a grand buying all the kitchen appliances and looking back think I got fleeced on that. At the time it was just convenient to do so. |

"Owner probably died and has no one to clear the house/ sort it all out
They said he had moved out, but yeah I think that may be the case."
You believe an estate agent! like they will say the owner died, who in the right mind would leave a property and not take their pills, toothbrush... unless they went into a care home |

Indeed. I could have been seized after being used as a meth house. |

It would have to be cleared surely.
I look at the area, the neighbours - I’d check crime rate in the area too, i’d want to know why they are moving if possible - don’t want to move in and find you’re living next to the neighbours from hell or a major road is about to be diverted closer.
I would drive round at different times of day to see what the parking is like.
Look at the views, and if that could change.
Any major works, don’t want to move in and find the boiler will be condemned straight after.

It's always interesting looking at property in the UK versus property in Canada.
I looked at one place over there where the tub was growing moss in it. The agent tried to tell me it was because of the humidity in the UK. There was other problems in their though. Another one, the mice had chewed through every cupboard and he tried to tell me that it used to be a plumbing line they took out. |

No I wouldn’t like that, did they tell you before you viewed? I’m also going to be buying a place sometime this year and am quite looking forward to the hunt |
