"No such thing as brunch but you have 2 meals in the evening?!"
I don't neccesarily have them. These are their official names, there can be no other.
Dinner is around 7 o'clock, supper is around 10 o'clock.
Brunch. Pffffft. It's a late breakfast or am early lunch.
Stop making things up you silly brunch people.

Hard to define brunch to those not in the know - it can happen at late breakfast time or at lunchtime or after lunchtime. I’d say brunch is defined by the sort of food that you have, be it kedgeree or some kind of hash. It also often involves alcohol like Bloody Mary’s or Prosecco / Mimosas. Brunch is the best! |

Supper can be a light meal or a hearty snack.
Cheese and biscuits are suitable. Grapes are an acceptable accompaniment.

"You forgot second breakfast, elevenses and afternoon tea."
Yes, I'm with you Meli.
Also not forgetting the midnight feast.
Oh, and the post-club takeaway/munchies, though I'm not sure what that's called |

"What about afternoon tea ??
Afternoon tea is acceptable. It is however, not a meal. "
I beg to differ. Fancy cakes and finger sandwiches are most assuredly a meal. A light meal, granted, but s meal nonetheless |

So if I fall out of bed at noon and have leftover pizza that was somehow stuck to my shoulder and a third of a bottle of vodka I'm not a complete failure as a human, I'm just having brunch?
Cool, I love brunch in that case |

So traditionally it read like this..
Breakfast
Lunch
Tea
Dinner
Supper
I think mainly from the Victorian era but it was certainly the correct term for those who could afford to eat so often. |

"So that greasy kebab you devour when you fall out of a club at silly o'clock in the morning, is that a late supper or an early breakfast?"
Any time to 4.30am it's late supper.
4.31am onwards it's an early breakfast.
Accompanied by a bottle of thunderbird it's brunch. |

You need to branch out dear. New culinary experiences and all that.
Pasta and chicken with pesto and spinach, with a salad accompaniment, drizzled in olive oil please.
Now that's what I call lunch!!! "
Ps. Balsamic vinegar too. |

"Anything eaten between breakfast, lunch, dinner or supper is a snack."
I believe that you have accidentally failed to consider 'Tea & Toast' at 4.30 pm.
The charge for this falls under Extra Messing and is compulsory for all living-in members. |
