Granted it has it's downs, such as everyone becoming a foremost expert in being offended and the tripe that is Love Island, but I can just stick two fingers up to the perpetually mortified and refuse to watch that twaddle.
What I find impossible to stick two fingers up at and have no intention of refusing is the carvery that is about to land at the front door, that I ordered a mere half hour ago, for myself and P to scoff, IN BED whilst sharing cheeky titters about last night's debauchery and life in general?
And that is why the 21st century is boss.

Yes! There's even a little map thingy that shows you exactly where the bloke on a scooter carrying your grub is and therefore using your local knowledge how long it will realistically be till you have gravy dribbling down your chin!

We don't have anything like that where I live 
We can get the local hotel to do a delivery which i tried once and cost me £35 for me and my son to have a cold dinner with watery gravy. Never again |

Ah, but it's interspersed with real life chat and snuggles! This is more like little surprises that pop up in their entirety to each other like love notes passed in class during the olden days?
Don't get me wrong, I'd have some stuff from times gone by back in a heartbeat like Middlesbrough FC being half-decent, but I'm not going to be besmirch the name of the 21st century out of hand. Not when I can settle back on my pillow tittering away with my good lady, as stuffed to the gills as Augustus Gloop, without either us having lifted a finger since we got in, except in the purposes of pleasure and warmth.
In this regard at least the Olden Days can take a flying fuck at a rolling doughnut.

I grew up mainly on Easterside, though parents moved to Linthorpe afterwards. I go back every so often to visit my Mum, but moved from there for good about 15 years ago now.
