I know that a few years ago Northants had an active peer rope group (which I attended once.
A few people that I know in the area pop down to peer rope London for their monthly fix of ropey goodness.
I say this as a straight male myself who has no regular partner to tie, but from my experience it is usually a red flag where a straight male wants private play, particularly if they are not a regular on the rope scene.
If you think it through, which group causes the most harm in the rope/kink scene? It is not submissive women.
My feeling is that an experienced rope model would want to see you in action at an event first. It would only be a newby and someone not part of the rope/ Kink scene who would tie with someone they have not seen tying at an event, which is a risk as they would not be in a position to judge the riggers competence let alone intentions. A male actively seeking newbies in itself could be a red flag.
I would add this is just my opinion and others may take a different view.

Peer rope events are very different to munches, do you want a rope bunny though?
Being a rope bunny is different again to being a masochist so finding a masochistic rope bunny... Are you a good rigger?
Ps lots of us travel to events. I do most of my events in the Midlands and live in Merseyside. Good events and clubs are worth travelling for |

It is not a question of mastering the art. It is more a question of being able to tie safely for the play that you are doing, and then having the skill to connect through the rope with person your tying. There is no mastering rope because there are different styles of rope play. It is a question of having the right skills and attitude. |

What we (and most others) mean by this term is the use of a single rope to improvise binding your partner in a number of positions–from the minimalist but formal to the improvisational. It can be a useful exercise, a way to focus on efficiency or particular frictions, or just a low-key way to enjoy groping your partner using rope.' |
