Why was Dave openly allowed to be racist yet if a white person sand those lyrics they would have been boo’d of the stage.

People like him add to the negative racist society that some live in. Every race have those who have beliefs we don’t all agree with.

He’s a singer not a politician he needs to remember that

If you can vote, then politics is relevant to everyone. I'm in IT but talk about politics. Maybe I shouldn't?

As a performer he has a platform to reach people disengaged from politics (and even society). If he can reach them, then excellent.

"Why was Dave openly allowed to be racist yet if a white person sand those lyrics they would have been boo’d of the stage.

I thought he's was pretty factual.

Or is he doing this to influence others to agree with what he thinks?

That's sort of the definition of politics...

By politicians.. not some rapper

Are politicians the only people allowed an opinion on politics?

No, but their opinion is their opinion.. when a rapper starts calling people racist and spreading their own agenda, thats not politics"

There’s been protest songs since pop music began tho. Didn’t the sex pistols call the monarchy a fascist regime? Let people in the industry voice their opinions I say, people don’t make their minds up from what their celebrity idols tell them to think.

"awwwwwwww don't be sorry. You don't have that power.

BUT.......

I asked a legitimate question and you missed the opportunity to be decent and big him up. I did want to know.

Imagine not knowing how to utilise google. If you don’t know, it’s not on me to tell you. Maybe think if you’ve nothing of any real note to bring to a discussion it might be beneficial to keep ones opinion to oneself

I know how to use Google. I'll show you if you like.

You are right about opinons and having nothing to offer though. You can teach me that in exchange.

Thanks for the offer, I’ll decline

As for opinions, maybe if you’ve no knowledge of something perhaps best if you say nothing for fear of looking silly on a public forum. An opinion and a platform with which to voice it doesn’t make that opinion valid

I didn't pass an opinion. I asked a question.

And then offered up an opinion as to how I should’ve answered you. Can you see the circles we are running around in?"

Actually she never asked who he was on her first comment. She said she didn't know who he was. It was not a challenge, it was not a "you are wrong", it was a genuine question.

Then asked why is he incredible. If she googled that she would not actually find out directly why it is incredible, just information about him. You are the one (and others) saying it is incredible. She is requesting your opinion on why you think this.

Your lack of willingness to share and turn it in to sarcasm and then an argument is the problem with issues like this the world over, people are not willing to discuss subjects and issues, just be in a position full of yes men and have their opinions agreed with.

So instead of trying to educate you just add to the hate so to speak. Which is actually one of the issues with racism, the lack of willingness to learn and educate. Take a look at Anthony Mackie's recent interview for a great example of talking to educate and learn.

Just to give a bit of context on this.

Its about feeling oppressed and defined by something about yourself.

For instance when I used ti visit my sister at Uni in Belfast in the 90's it wasnt being white that had me on edge it was being Irish.

It wasnt being white that caused Army patrols to stop our car and put Automatic rifles to the windows it was the Rep Of Ireland car reg....

We dont make songs about our struggles as white people but there are plenty about being Irish

........wait...what? Sorry but you’ve lost the plot there my love. The Einsatzgruppen and Totenkopf SS weren’t racist towards the Jews....because they’re white? You’re 100% entitled to your opinion on the matter, but this is part of the reason anti semitism were the most recorded hate incidents and crimes in 2019.

"Did you mention the Serbs?"

This is probably more what he’s on about ^

He said it can’t be racist because it’s white on white, not just one group subjugating a different colour group, completely disregarding the fact that there are in fact distinct genetically diverse groups within ‘white people’. It was offensive on so many levels, not least of which is the implication that all ‘white’ people are the same

But the Yugoslav Wars, the Final Solution, the Liberian Civil Wars, Rwandan Genocides, the Celtic Genocides....all examples of racial violence perpetrated by people of the same colour. But not racist at all according to his logic. Pretty disheartened by that level of ignorance to be honest.

I've only heard of him because my boys are fans.

I saw him on the Brits, listened to his speech and while I don't agree with a lot if his lyrics he did say something really important which is a great message to his young fans. And that was 'ordinary people can still be whatever they want to be in this difficult world'. Or something like that

The Nazi regime disliked anyone that wasn't ubermensch, thats why they did the things they did in the East as they thought Slavs were essentially non people. Japenese did something very similar to the Chinese. Every race, creed or ethnicity has done it in the past

The process of de-humanising groups of people be they Black, Pink, Blue, Gay, Straight whatever is more the root cause and makes it a hell of alot easier for these atrocities to happen in the first place. One of the reasons I dont like the term Gammon,Remainer, libtard or whatever.

I wouldn’t say the narrative is ‘you can’t have racism between the same skin colour’. That’s very much the minority view in my experience, spouted by the truly pig ignorant.

Who said you can’t have racism between people of the same skin colour? I don’t remember Dave mentioning it last night tbh

'Again whites couldn’t have as they haven’t been oppressed'

'All the groups you named were all oppressed by other whites that’s why it can’t be racist. Your speaking of prejudice between different groups.'

Ah, so it was similar to WW2? The Germans were trying to suppress those who opposed them ? Or the Anglo Scottish wars, the English were trying to oppress the Scottish? Etc etc

One of the reasons I dont like the term Gammon,Remainer, libtard or whatever."

I agree with all of what you’ve said, but I think his implication was that because these groups are all white, then it can’t be racism. I’m saying there are genetic differences between ethnic groups within the classifications of ‘white’, ‘black’ ‘brown’ etc. Look at the differences in the Quechua and the Aymara in Peru as a small geographical example of genetic diversity. Separate races, same colour skin.

He’s over simplifying his definition of ‘race’ to suit his agenda and support his argument, and thereby proving himself a racist because he’s saying ‘all white people are the same’. That’s what I take issue with.
