"Think this thread would have been better in general chat unless there some swingers code that we are unaware of going on ? "
They use 'swing' bins in those places don't they?
I always clear my mess, makes it easier for the staff to just wipe up after |

"What's your take on emptying your tray at McDonald's, is it bad manners not to??"
Yes - just don't accidentally leave your phone on it whilst browsing FAB - you either face the prospect of looking like a starving tramp trying to rescue it from the bin yourself - or getting some funny looks when a mc-jobber rescues it for you and sees what's on screen!

"do you clear the table in other restaurants That said sometimes I do other times I don't - but they employ staff to clear tables "
Depends on the place, I have been known in 'cafe' type places to take my dish/mug to the counter as I leave |

"It's bad manners and pure laziness. Why leave a mess for others to clean up
Because they get paid to do it... If people didnt leave a mess then the staff would have no jobs!!!!"
Do you also dump litter in the streets, so that the street cleaners have a job!
It really annoys me when people leave a mess all over the table, especially if they see people are waiting for a table.

I will leave the tray on the table if the restaraunt is quiet in order to give staff something to do (helps retain jobs).
If the restaraunt is busy, I will clear the table for others to use and to ease the workload on members of staff.
I am not the sort of person that would drop litter in the streets |

it's these sort of answers that give a good insight to peoples attitudes, many thanks for them
For the record, I take my tray to the bin.
This allows more tables to be wiped clean, thus giving the next people a cleaner table to use.
Restaurants are different, as are the prices and tips expected...
If you still think it's right to leave your tray etc, don't moan if you can't find a clean table next time your there
Love to all |

I can't afford to go to Mcdonalds now days but when I did I always cleared the table, of the staff might be paid to do it but if the restaurant is quite busy it is rarely done before the next person/people want to use the table and I wouldn't want to clean up others rubbish so would not expect others to clean up mine |

Not at all, how can it be bad manners not to? After all you have paid a premium for the service. To the best of my knowledge there are no signs up instructing us to do so. The prices McDonalds charge these days, you would be better served going into wetherspoons for a meal, brought to your table and cleared when your done. The issue i have with clearing tables in McDonalds is, as already mentioned, that we are doing people out of jobs. Someone above mentioned litter and doing council workers out of a job, but thats a different matter all together. McDonalds are providing a service, and as long as they can fool us into paying for their overpriced, undernourishing food while clearing our own tables, they will continue to run these restaurants with smaller amounts of staff, greater profits and fatter dividends for the greedy shareholders!Where is the line here for the table clearers? Would you mop the floors? Clean the toilets? Cook your own food? |

So what about the people who use the drive thru , sit in their car in the car park. When they have finished eating they open the car door and stuff the rubbish under the car then drive off ! Leaving the litter blowing about the carpark. Why dont they leave the rubbish in their car for someone else to clear out? |

just to clear a point i have nothing against anyone that has had the misfortune of being out of gameful employment my only issue is the people who do not and have no intention of helping themselves and indeed the country as a whole by seeking a job instead of sitting around town centers drinking and causing mayhem. Surely it would be in the interest of everyone if they were tasked in keeping town streets parks and area clean and safe for our children and others why should we as people put up with there mindless selfish acts of mindless vandalism and even the desecration as i have witness myself of urinating on war memorials to the brave service men and women who have given there lives and still are for our freedom. as an ex serviceman who had to suffer friends and fellow countrymen passing from this world to the next in my arms whilst protecting the very freedom of these people i feel very strongly about the issue. So yes if they do not want to work then give them the choice work for there money or don't have any, maybe just maybe that way we may have the spare council and city budget funds available for parks hospitals and making our streets a safer place to be.
we all have our roles to play and contributions to make but why should we be penalized for the few who have no wish to contribute to our society. My hope is we can shine once again one day and all together be proud to hold the name of an English man/woman in a country where the selfish minority do not deject from the portrait of This Green and pleasant land.
all that being said if offense in my earlier post was caused this was not the intention but with the above fuller explanation i trust this will be cleared up. |

"What's your take on emptying your tray at McDonald's, is it bad manners not to??"
They employ people to keep the tables clean so why deprive them of a job. I don't mean that nastily but if everyone emptied their trays when they were finished those cleaning ladies would be out of a job.
Keep it messy, keep a job. |

So Mcdonalds can't access there own CCTV systems? And the police told you why they wanted to see it?
And googling Mcdonalds closed down by enviromental health brings up nothing, never mind narrowiung the search to Lincolnshire.
Sorry but it's an urban myth. |

A lot of folk believe that the McChicken sandwich is a healthier option than eating a Big Mac but if you look at the calorie count sheets they put on the trays now you'll see that the McChicken is much higher in calories by a long way. |

there is more nutrition in a mcdonalds meal than there is truth in that statement!!

I have always cleared away the trays and any mess we have made
I believe its good manners even though I know that they have people there to to do that, when the children were small and the place was packed it was a pain if I had to clear away the previous persons mess, juggle holding a tray of food, manage 2 small children,I use to think lazy buggers!
I also think it was a good lesson for the children to clear up after themselves
I would'nt have allowed them to drop litter on the street either and just assume that someone will come along and clear it up for them,I think thats an arrogant attitude that id rather not instill in them |

you're not being fair there. The people who clean the tables are not the people serving the food. Usually it is an aged employee, or someone with learning difficulties who is employed to clewr the tables, and whenever I've been in a McDs they've been pretty good at doing their jobs. A packed restaurant on a business park for example will see tables uncleared for a minute or two but when that has happened I've had a table cleaner on the spot in a jiffy to clear the table for me. No complaints from me about McDs cleaning dept. |

Although, just the thought of eating in MackyD’s fills, me with an urge to defecate……
I would clear my own table, if only to hide the embarrassment of allowing myself to purchase a mass produced table-top meal unnecessarily wrapped in paper and cardboard that now requires disposal or recycling at a financial cost greater than some nations spend on famine relief.
But hey that’s just me!!!

Funnily enough, I don't think of any of that when tucking into my BigMac. All I tend to think is "I wish they'd put more gherkins in these things." |

only when the kids drag me in , and when i am there I always clear my rubbish in the bin, BUT part of me thinks i shouldnt, my brother used to work in a wimpy and said it was the most mind numbing brainless work imaginable, he used to deliberately make a mess just to have something to do, seems to me we might be doing the staff a favour le |
