Shibari is a traditional form of artistic rope bondage that originated in Japan. The word Shibari literally translates as "to tie." Thin pieces of rope are used to create the intricate geometric patterns and shapes which characterize this beautiful and sensual art form Shibari.

Anyone else a lover of this.

I'm just starting to learn myself.

Any subs want to be my guinie pig?

I’ve seen it done at a few events and it looks amazing. Definitely on my to do list. It’s just finding the time to have lessons with a willing local partner that’s the problem.

Isn't that part of learning?

I've let trainees in hospital dona few things to me before now that haven't worked out quite as planned but they got to practice on a real person.

I'm all for helping

Well I'd do my best not to hurt ya anyway

And as for rope being dangerous.

Yes it can be, but that's why I have paramedic scissors handy.

Alcohol can also be very dangerous, same as paracetamol though.

I have an interest in this and would love to know more.

Have been invited to a workshop too but dates are always a pain.

Looks amazing though.

I'm just learning from others who are very skilled in shabari.

I'm a domme anyway so understand safety more than most think I do.

Theres lots of YouTube videos on it too. And plenty of info surrounding it on google, with a quick search.

It just looks devine.

over there by that tree

Love this and practice quite often, no master at all and definitely not ready for suspensions.

Completely agree about the danger side of this, I lost a fair amount of rope as I had to cut a lady free after she started to panic.

Up on them there hills

It is stunning, however if you don’t study pressure points, nerve paths it is tricky, well in my eyes.

Until I am more capable, wouldn’t even engage in suspension.

Saying that, if there is a rope bunny who is willing to explore, we might learn something.

There are some great online resources theduchy for one (google it) after that looking out for fetish fairs like London Alternative Market as they often have rope vendors, demos and rope lovers who are happy to chat about their kink.

Personally I used to do a fair amount, I do self ties to practice when I can, and will never be well versed enough but have hopes to do some suspension work sometime in the bearish future... still hoping to do a spider’s web suspension but hey ho...

Shibari is a major passion of mine. My 18th Aug pic shows me hogtied with rope (have others in fruends and privately). I love bondage and restraint anyway but rope work is something very special, you can feel the tightening and the tension whilst it is being applied.

From what I have been told, from experience, it’s the slow sensual feeling of being more and more restricted with a sensual art.

Also rope textures.

I’m no master, however I’m ecological learning.

Yep you've hit the nail on the head. It's exactly that. It builds gradually as different pressure points are introduced and other points begin to tighten further. It is very sensual actually especially with a partner that you can trust that knows what they are doing.

I had a rope session before and it was amazing the way I felt restricted and the way the rope felt on my body it’s a total sensory experience .

Loved your reply! I share your mentality too, I’m always up for helping with trainees and trials, and yes it can backfire! My worst example would be agreeing to have an alternative drip during childbirth which did nothing for me but I was like “yes sure, why not?”. Had some good haircuts and massages from trainees though. It’s just the medical stuff I’ve been not so lucky with haha. Glad to see I’m not the only nutter that does this

I have met a trusted and respected rigger, it was enlightening, rope work is artistic, sensual, sadistic and can be so dangerous, I've heard such horror stories, seen hands no longer mobile due to atrophy. Peer workshops exist as well as online videos etc, research is vital. The results, oh my, the wearable rope designs, the sadistic ties, the suspensions, all of it really, so fascinating.

Kind of called this on another forum, who taught the teacher?

Exploring is not in another person’s world.

It’s about “safety” seductively sensually in a person.

The ropes should portray that.

Adore adore adore Shibari and rope work in general!

Yes it can be dangerous, but hey, getting up and coming down stairs in the morning can be dangerous!

As I explained to a play partner, I can't make it safe! I can reduce the risk! Safety shears, knowledge, understand and communication are all factors that will help in that!

The intensity you can feel with someone while doing rope is amazing. Be it soft and sensual or hard and fast or just to tie them to the bed and "get on with it"

I have some examples of my work on my profile, up to and including suspensions. Have fun and stay safe folks

I would love to learn rope play and will definitely be investing in ropes so as to learn. I'll need a few willing volunteers come the time

Love tying, love sensual rope, love sadistic rope, love suspension. Particularly love a partial suspension twisted predicament scenario.

I guess it's all about trust and exploring together x
