Let's say your favourite TV series character was going to leave the show, would you keep watching it?

Ahhh I dunno. Depends on the show

Does anyone remember the show misfits? I was heartbroken when Nathan left but it was still a god show even without him.

Benidorm, I stopped watching when the Garveys left!

Best character from a show ever was Jobe in Banshee.

And that's ended, so thankfully no need

Nathan really made that show. It really wasn't the same, especially following that Simon left.

It really depends though, both in terms of the character (does the show/story/plot/premise work without them, or is it just the actor that made the character good.

I'm trying to think of any examples that have made me stop watching a show. Misfits is probably the best example to be honest. Nathan left, I powered through, then Simon left and I tried but it just didn't work.

Oh! Being Human is a great example too, though in the case of that it was an entire cast change but still. Again though I watched it and finished the show, but it just wasn't the same.

The Bridge without Saga, or Twin Peaks without Dale Cooper? Nope. I wouldn’t do it.

Yep, I thought of Being Human when I read the OP.

I think sometimes it can really affect the dynamics shown. I really love Supernatural but later episodes without Crowley's witticisms and bromance aren't quite as enjoyable.

Changing of a main character is the worst offense. Very few shows can ever recover from that.

Which tends to go hand in hand with just poor writing for the new character/actor to work with.

BRIDPORT

I don’t have a TV but listening to The Archers, whilst still enjoyable, just isn’t quite the same knowing there won’t be anymore pearls of wisdom from Joe. I do miss him.

Southport / Ellesmere Port

I'd stop watching Dick Dastardly and Muttley if Muttley left

I'd be bereft if Miss Honeybun left

That's what I feel is happening to Grey's anatomy! Karev is leaving

For me Siobhan was the character who ended it. It was a good show!

It's an amazing show. One of very few series I've finished, ever.

I rarely watch tv series
