A man on a bicycle approached the US border from Mexico. He was carrying a heavy sack.
"What's in the sack" asked the border guard.
"Sand" came the reply.
The guard checked and sure enough it was sand. So he let the man through.
A week later the man on the bicycle appeared again carrying a heavy sack.
"What's in the sack" asked the border guard.
"Sand"
The guard checked verified it was sand and let the cyclist through.
This continued on a weekly basis for six months until one day the cyclist with the sack full of sand failed to turn up.
A few days later the guard chanced upon him in a downtown bar.
"Hey", said the guard. "You've been driving us crazy for the past six months. We're damn sure you were smuggling something through. In strictest confidence please tell me what it was".
"Bicycles" replied the man said. |
