Ok, first post on here and not been on too long but I just can’t get my head around some people.
Chatted to a few ladies and gents (yeah I’m greedy), and loads have said they will only fuck bareback. What the hell is the attraction and why put yourself and others at risk? What possesses people! |

They like it. It's not for us to judge. It's for us to protect only ourselves.
Play as if everyone barebacks and you will be safer.
Get regular tests to know you are clear of STI's as much as possible.
At least they are telling you so you can make an informed choice as to whether you play with them or not. Some are not that considerate.

I guess I must be and trust me we don’t chat long after. Just don’t get the attraction.....even if it was Jennifer Anniston asking and promising she had bacon flavour nipples if not risk bareback! |

And that's your choice . I too mainly play safe except for trusted partners that i have known for years. I feel no Shame in that. |

Bareback really is a game of chance, like Russian Roulette, one day the odds do not roll in your favour. If you had six parachutes laid on the tarmac and you knew one was faulty then would you pick one and hope for the best when you pull that cord. Similarly, if you pulled in a club would you really take that risk ...

Are you saying 1 in 6 people have a STI? That sounds high |

Who knows the levels. I think the point was there is a risk involved, and some are going to be OK with that risk and some aren't. And in my view is the same with arranging meets, some will risk it, others will back out. Same way you are more likely to drop dead in the minute before the lottery draw than win. You pick your risks, and fair play to whatever risk you want to try |

Well you can play bareback and reduce the risk by excluding certain groups but then the forum police start twitching |

Tbh I think it might actually be higher if you take HPV into account. |

"This is the most judgemental post for ages, bet you don't get cross dressing or gay sex either, how about kissing on a first date you do know non of it is compulsory don't you. "
That came across as a bit judgemental |

It's a form of herpes that can be passed on by sexual interaction, that condoms can't always protect against, it's believed that up to 70 percent of the sexually active population can have it, and many won't know. Sometimes it can go away by itself without any symptoms, or it may cause warts or cancers. Please Google it up, id hate to be giving you the wrong info. |

Actually it's HSV (Herpes Simplex Virus) that is a form of herpes it's distinctly different from HPV (Human Papiloma Virus) which causes warts - HSV can cause blisters and sores - both can however be passed on by skin to skin contact and not just sexually. HPV also has many variants not all of which are considered STIs.
If you want more info the excellent sh24.org.uk website has info on all the common STIs.
As for the OP - some people see bareback as an acceptable risk, especially with trusted partners, some enjoy the thrill of it - it's not for me to judge, I just take responsibility for my own sexual health and assess my risks differently to them is all. |
