.. the future?

Does it excite you or scare you a little? Do you have a lifetime plan? or are you a one day at a time person?

Virtually every second i breathe.

eg what song do i play next, shall i go for a piss now or a bit later, check on my greenhouse etc.

When i stop having any reason to think ahead even slightly, i'll expire. Easy really.

I'm no good at planning anything! Best laid plans and all that. I try to make good choices with a view to how it might effect my future, but will go with the flow if it takes a different course.

The future depresses me and scares me a little. We're childless (not through choice), so there'll be no family get togethers or Grandchildren to have round at the weekend for us. We'll grow old alone, albeit together.

Who knows, maybe one day that thought won't seem so bad.

Theres so many what ifs and different routes to take in my life.. but im often curious about how my little one will grow up

as any parent knows they grow up exceptionally quickly and it scares me a little, wonder if things i do with her will influence her life and if they are good things or bad. I hope i don't make mistakes and she grows up to be a well rounded polite and respected young lady.

Id just love to be around to watch her get married.. to know she is safe and loved by someone.

"i think about the day my kids will move out all the time "

Twice this week, and it's only Tuesday my kids have ruined my play plans. Thankfully my daughter phoned to say she was finishing uni early. Good thing as therapist would have featured in my future.

I'm financially set for the future, but every time someone I know dies I wonder how long I've got.

Think that's why this year I'm embarking on a voyage of discovery, visiting countries that interest and excite me.

Can't wait.

ive only recently started thinking about the future, kind of tried to keep a hold of a mis-spent youth as long as i could!

but since becoming a single dad last year, ive really had to focus myself in everything i do, ive even met myself a girlfriend its still early days, and have been weaning myself off fab, slowly but surely!

I used to plan for the future, I dont now as life has certainly taught me one thing which is ...Life changes while you are making plans.

Kinda feel that accepting what s thrown at you is so much less stressful.

i'm glad your in the same boat, at least if it sinks i can grab on to your bouyancy aids

but on a more serious note, i think that when kids are involved, its important to have some sort of plan ready, tho kids are one sure fire way to make plans go out of the window!

In about 30 seconds out of the blue a RTA made me a single Dad a long while back, learned that day to not expect tomorrow, kids have grown and left home and I had a solid plan for that day from shortly after that time, now after surviving cancer twice I am remarried, making all those plans nul and void as they were all for one person only.

So nope enjoy today and maybe plan a holiday for 6 months or so in advance. but always enjoy NOW.

I have started to plan for my 50th year, which is less than 3 years away.

I know what I would like to do when I retire.

It is good to plan for the future, IMHO.

I am now married but 6 yrs ago my girlfriend was tragically killed and it was like my whole world had ended.

My experience made me look at life in a whole different light and to appreciate every day.

One thing I did learn is do not end the day on bad terms, appreciate family and friends as you never know when they are going to be taken from you.

So enjoy, be pleasant and don't allow things to annoy you xxxx
