a follow on from ShagTonights fav solo;
.
What is your Favourite album of all time;
Only One; not a list of 2, 3, 5, or 10, only one album you play over and over.
.
Mine would be....
Roger Waters - In The Flesh..…

Personally, my favourite album tends to change from day to day, depending on my mood, however, on a long drive back from the northeast of Scotland to Essex yesterday, dark side of the moon was a perfect companion. |

Currently, Fear Innoculum by Tool (I've played out daily since it came out last year and I'm still discovering little nuances that I hadn't heard before).
Historically, August and Everything After by Counting Crows, it's perfect. |

"It changes yearly.... but presently it Idles - Joy As An Act Of Resistance "
That one just constantly bubbles away, somewhere near the top of my list. Incredible band. |

There and to the left a bit |
If you put a gun to my head then it would have to be...
The Liberty Of Norton Folgate (deluxe version) - Madness
...but there are many others that would get listed if the gun was removed |

"Forever Changes - Love"
I've tried so hard to get into that album over the years and never succeeded!
'Alone Again Or' was one of the first songs I ever learned on guitar though |

"Earth vs. The Wildhearts
https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLSNgIrGVenuC8jQIX0x7e-O7EBXsQ4hAK"
My mate's the drummer in The Wildhearts and I'm also 'friends' with one of their ex-drummers;I swapped a load of video I had of the band when they first started for some demo tapes he'd done with his wife, who was the ex-bass player in Vixen),we still chat occasionally. |

"Beatles Sgt pepper
Love so many bands and their albums but if I have to choose one I’m with you Sgt Pepper. "
Sgt Pepper used to be lauded as the greatest album ever made but I don't think it's even the best Beatles album.
It is a wonderful album but misses Penny Lane/Strawberry fields being left off.
It is one of the big 5 but I'd rate them...
1 The White Album
2 Revolver
3 Abbey Road
4 Sgt Pepper
5 Rubber Soul |

"It changes every day but the one I keep returning to is Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys
Brilliant album but I'm preferring SMiLE"
I'm up and down with Smile. Some of the themes and orchestration on Pet Sounds are just so ahead of their time and some of the songs have personal meaning to me. |

"Oh god....hmmm
Toss up between Rumours by Fleetwood Mac and Master of Puppets by Metallica. Flip a coin?
Love Master, but S&M surely? And for once, nothing sexual intended "
Thoughts on St Anger? |

Pet Sounds is very sophisticated, the orchestration and beautiful arrangements.
Smile is just way out there crazy but wonderful (pun intended), sort of an USA Sgt pepper but wackier. |

I like both albums. I've seen Brian Wilson live doing Pet Sounds and Smile and both are brilliant albums. Of course the original smile never got released. Love Sgt Pepper too. In fact might have a listen to that tomorrow |

"Just as an album.... The streets, a grand don't come for free. A brilliant piece of work. Didn't care much for them as a group "
Oh god yes, forgot about them. Original Pirate Material is one of the best albums ever. Definitely. |

It's a shame smile never got released in 1967, would have been a landmark album.
So close to being finished too, just the cool cool water/blue hawaii and look/song for children sections. |

"Actually by Pet Shop Boys
My first ever album & still the best. My lyrical heroes. Roll on May in Manchester!"
I saw them live in Liverpool about 4-5 years ago and was one of the best live shows I've ever seen. |

One of the very few bands that made a better album each time they went into the studio. Mark Burgess was a very very underrated song writer, only in the last few years has he started to get recognition he deserves. |

Astral Weeks , Van Morrison .
Total work of genius "
And recorded so quickly with the musicians hardly knowing the songs. Incredible piece of work, like a stream of consciousness. Van the man's finest. |

There are so many.
I'm going to shake things up with something that is rather outside the norm.
Miserere - Allegri
I'm not religious, but I do trundle off to Rome a couple of times each year to enjoy the food, the museums, galleries and Churches with a friend who is.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=6n9EyT1R3l0
Enjoy.
