I’m getting divorced so I’m selling my house soon and currently doing it up.

I have a well in the house and for fifteen years it’s just been ‘the well’ and I quite fancied putting a glass top on it to walk over.

I’m finally doing it now and am currently playing with how to illuminate it. Tonight I have some led spotlights I’ve lowered 7 metres to the bottom and I can’t stop looking down it. It fascinates me.

Am I the only one who’s missed something like this in their world and are now wishing they’d had more time to enjoy?

You’ve just reminded me...

Isn’t it strange how we tend to put all the effort into selling up and moving, making our houses look brilliant and making sure everything works as it should.

I did our last house out like a palace to sell it and remember thinking fuck me this is beautiful now... why didn’t I do this five years ago and enjoy it myself!!

Brighton - even Hove!

You could put a bucket in it and in the bucket put a 7inch single of ‘well, well, well’ by the wooden tops.

I feel a bit like this too. So much I wanted to do and everyone keeps saying “you won’t want to move” and in truth, I don’t.

I couldn’t do what I’m doing now before as I was working 50 or 60 hrs a week to pay for the bloody thing.

I’ve stopped work to do this and to hopefully claw back some of my losses.

I don’t watch horror movies. They scare me too much.

My outside TV aerial was damaged by the winds. So I went into the roof space to get the old indoor one.

And I had forgotten that my big box of old toys was there I thought my mum had binned them.

Action men.my toy soldiers and old favourite books.

Funny how we forget stuff we put away safe

I hope it all works out for you

Oh I see.

The stables was a joke. I haven’t actually got those.

The well is in the garden room I rebuilt just in time for Christmas and we had the meal in there. It’s a lovely 17th century place. Someone will love it.

What a brilliant feature. A restaurant near me has similar but with fish in it which makes me a little sad for the fish.

There’s a lot of water for them though. So better than a tank I guess

Teesside

I did the family home up to sell due to marriage breakdown and came to the conclusion that I needed to make more effort in my next home to make it extra special. I'm crap at DIY. But still I'm pleased to say I've managed and now love my very individual unique new place. It's so me!

Good things can come from dark places if you let them.

I’m pledging to have another one of my major changes in direction in life as a result of this.
