Hi
Does anyone know the best way to get a Mini DV tape into a HD video format onto a laptop?
Found my old Mini DV camcorder, but no cables.
Any solutions or help would be most appreciated

There and to the left a bit |
I take it it's not the kind of tape that you could take to one of your local stores that convert such things for you?
If so, maybe Google would be your friend to help you find the right kind of cable to buy to connect to your PC and the recorder, or even take it into a local branch of Currys or Jessops with a family friendly tape and ask what cable you'd need. |

Definitely a tape that is private. Wondered if anyone on here had experience in doing this |

You need your mini dv camera to send it through video editing software.
If you intend to send it through USB 2.0 or 3.0 Video Capture Device.
The alternative is via a mp4 recording device.
I have most devices already as used to do mine and other peoples videos up to mp4.
With no questions asked, with garanteed privacy. |

In fairness, a bit too much trust involved to send |
