Two words. Nicola Adams. Brilliant athlete, great boxer and all round hero. Before her it was arguable boxing for women was a circus sideshow. After her no doubt about it - it's a sport for genuine athletes ith genuine csills and heart.

But it's a very brutal sport,at least 2 high profile male boxers died in last half of last year alone but got v little media coverage,not a fan of watching women thumping the heads off each other,some seem to love it though |

There were some very capable and talented female boxers before her (Ann Wolfe was incredible) but I do think that the exposure herself, Katie Taylor and Clarissa Shields got from the Olympics has helped to give women's boxing a lot more exposure and legitimacy |
