Interesting point! I would argue that it was an act of nature and beyond my control. Therefore, what said fence panel does when not in my care is its own fault not mine

I do have a rather large tree in my garden though and if that fell and did damage, I would offer to pay, as I have not got round to chopping that one down yet

"Rain is coming down quite hard here and the pub sign is swinging a lot.

I think it’ll be a loud night "

That's gonna be the only thing that is swinging for those effected by the damn storm today!

"Ooops, there goes another fence panel

Here's a thought Jo.

If someone's ( yours ) fence panel blew away and smashed a window ( neighbours ) would that someone ( you ) be liable for the cost of fixing the window ?

I'm asking for a friend who is worried about a fooking huge tree "

The public liability part of your insurance would cover this.

Only if the other person could demonstrate that in some way you had been negligent and had a legal liability for the loss.

So long answer is it depends!

It should be covered under the other persons policy, if they have one.

We're officially cut off now, both roads in and out of our village are under about 3 foot of water, the golf course has waves on it

I hope my fence holds up. I have just spent a fortune getting it fixed after Storm Brendan !

That's a lot of privacy to lose to protect against a rare storm.

It has settled down a bit here now but we had a right battering most of the morning. Still getting strong gusts every so often.

Thought of that........ This is England. We get about 6 warm days per year if we are lucky. I'm not out wanking in a bikini on the hottest of them.

If the neighbours want to look at my grass then so be it.

If they want to watch me reading a book then so be it.

If they want to watch me hanging out sheets then so be it.

Truth is they can do that from the bedroom window no matter how high the fence.

I don't see privacy as an issue really.

Don't say that, you'll have desperate single blokes opening theirs with their cocks out, hoping Ciara will suck them off!

Ciara certainly made my weekend eventful.

All her huffing and puffing cancelled my weekend away in the Lakes then blew a roof tile onto himself's car smashing it up and rendering me stranded for a while in Manchester. Home now but she really is a stroppy cow.
