People will define it, whether it can/should be or not. People will always define things based on their own experiences and judge others accordingly.

I don't think there is a universally accepted single definition of swinging. There are a number of behaviours you can select from that indicate a swinger but not all of them have to be present for somebody to identify as a swinger.
I think at it's heart is consensual non-monogamy. Characteristics include couples bringing other people in to enjoy sex with them; and individuals who have multiple partners, either one at a time (something like a rota) or at the same time (from threesomes to full orgies).
There will be variants on those I'm sure so it won't be a single set of them that makes somebody a swinger. |
