Yes I have cptsd.
Look up blankets for anxiety. Weighted blankets help.
Roll with no sleep. Look at the cause not the reaction.. Treat the issue.. And help the end by yoga or meditation.
Good luck..
Cptsd.. I can't remember.. Terrible short n long term memory is my main issue.. |

Sending hugs and best wishes.
Part of the solution is understanding the problem, recognizing it for what it is and managing as best you can.
I think I've been constantly trying to solve the problem instead of managing symptoms when I've had episodes, and that's not as proactive as it possibly could be.

This.
I had counselling last year. It brought up a lot of nasty things I'd forgotten but ultimately helped.
Be kind to yourself. |

Hey yeah I have the same problem I’ve been suffering for years with it and the nightmares keep me awake at night. Also getting stuck in memories with absolute fear and pain. I’ve had councillors for the past 5 years and it brought the absolute worst out in me and even now I still wake up in cold sweats asking myself the same question over and over. |

I've fought my demons (C-PTSD most likely, although just "anxiety" because it didn't make it into the DSM )and largely prevailed, but they never entirely leave you. Sleep is a mare. Be kind to yourself, everyone xx |

Sending hugs to you all.
I still have demons from Iraq when a little girl who used to hang around our patrol base was killed in crossfire when insurgents attacked us.
No matter what has caused your demons the best thing is to talk about them to someone and get it off your chest. I learned not to bottle things up as that's what we all do as dont like to burden people but that leads to darker places. X |

Yes, definitely. Find safe places to open up, to process, to heal. The line between distraction and avoidance.
It's fucking tough, and I'm sorry that others walk that path with me. But I'll walk with you x |

I happened to read in a self help book, a few years ago, that weight lifting can really help with anxiety and PTSD. It really, really helps me, as an adjunct to other things (mindfulness meditation is the cornerstone of my recovery, your mileage may vary).
Worth sharing in case it's of use. |

It's hard opening up. I only started talking openly about my struggles when I felt I had an established presence here and might be defended if it came to it. Even then, I don't talk about the specifics in public, basically ever.
It's OK to not be OK. It's OK to ask for and need help x |

They might be bringing out XTC as a legal treatment.
XTC has been shown to help ptsd more than has been shown to help pain.
they have shown that giving a "medium" dose and then sitting down with the person and saying "okay tell me about it", that the person can freely talk about the issue. Talking about it helps but the drug also makes you feel good while you are talking about it. This helps you reduce your anxious levels remembering/talking about it without the drug. There is a 3rd benefit and that is something they never expected. It can actually help re-write anxious levels inside the memory if you recall the memory. So after proper therapy with it, you will be able to talk about it, and also the memory wont be so daunting.
Microdosing has been shown to be more affective than nearly any other anti depresant on the market too.
Anyway, from what I hear, it should be coming out soon, and its done miracles for soldiers in testing. Also as a stimulant and not a depresant like /alcohol it wont numb you to the world.
Till then all you can do is talk and try get to grips with it. |

"Struggling tonight. The nightmares have hit with no warning and anxiety is through the roof."
Stick some soothing music or your favourite music on.
Grab a book or watch something that you find interesting.
Redirect your thoughts it's a temporary measure but it works.
Distraction helps calm the mind, change of focus.
When you have sleeping nightmares as you wake up remind yourself it's been and gone. If you have waking ones distraction helps. Drive the thoughts away. If talking helps find someone you can talk to and strangers I find are the best way you feel less judgement because they don't know you. If they judge you can walk away from the conversation without shame.

I had/have it too after the Falklands war. Never officially diagnosed and got no help at all
38 years ago now, I don't think it will ever fully go but I have learnt to deal with it and it's got a lot easier over time. As above, music and distractions are my way too, hobbies I will get quite obsessive about then drop them and move on to the next but it works for me |

I heard that nightmares could be due to low blood sugar. The mind creates nightmares to stimulate the adrenal glands which cause the body to break down fat into sugar. If it's this a sweet drink before bedtime should help. |
