"Saga Noren
Tack! Loved The Bridge
Let's not forget Martin - him and Saga together were awesome "
He kind of reprised the role (IMO) in killing eve as Villanelles handler.
Sagas old green air-cooled 911 was pretty as well |

Dunno if it's a stretch but.. The FBI agent who goes after Jordan Belfour in The Wolf of Wall Street. I thought he was cool as fuck.
If it doesn't count then Jonathan Creek. Those early series with Caroline Quentin were absolute magic.
And for any old Minder fans let's hear it for Ronnie Rycott and Cheerful Charlie Chisholm () |

"Val Mcdermid's creation of Tony Hill - criminal psychologist really buy similar kind of thing in the Wire in the Blood book series that starts with the excellent Mermaids Singing.
"
Ooh good shout
DI Tony McClean (James Oswald's books- I actually don't like the underlying horror element but stay for the characters)
Miss Fisher

I will add George Gently (with John Bacchus) and my favourite Scottish detective - who I can't believe hasn't been mentioned already - Logan McRae |
