I'd like to nominate Queensryche's 1988 album Operation Mindcrime.

After some considerable time spent gathering dust in my extensive music collection i decided to have a listen last night. It still blew me away; lyrically brilliant, tightly played and a fascinating story.

What's yours?

Sunderland

Histoire de Melody Nelson by Serge Gainsborough

An absolute classic and he talks about the fact she is from Sunderland.

Apparently believed it sounded exotic. Clearly he never visited.
