Rissole, I don’t think anyone outside Wales would know what one is. Sold in chip shops, sausage meat in breadcrumbs, like a scotch egg without the egg, bit of a disappointment really but they are nice.

Having mash and roast potatoes on the same plate

We had a pasty shop in town for a while that did a variety of savoury ones but also sweet ones including a rhubarb and custard one that was pure heaven. Was gutted when they closed.

If you go to Wigan they have a thing called chips and wet with scraps.

Translated that's chips with pea water on them and the bits of batter of the fish. Just wrong for me.

I'm from South London originally and I took my ex, from Wigan, to a pie n Mash shop for a treat and she asked in the shop if she could have gravy on it. The whole shop instantly went silent and they are stared at her as if an alien had descended on the planet
