In my happy place

So in a supermarket yesterday, a girl with her son was getting flustered at till.

She was a little bit short and so I gave the lady on the till the difference discreetly.

I hate how people are trying to manage and others have too much.

If we all did one thing for someone every day the world would be a better place.

I did this for almost a year to the same homeless girl who sat out side the office building I work at.

I’d walk past her each day when getting my breakfast. I’d get her breakfast and a hot drink too.

Over time I learned that she didn’t like cola or sugar in her tea.

Her story was quite sad, but one day a while back she approached me and handed me a tea and my breakfast in a bag. She’d gotten off the streets and got a job.

That's lovely. Sometimes the smallest of gestures can make the biggest difference

Both of you were very kind.

I like to think until we walk a day in someone else's shoes we have no idea what they are going through.

What a lovely thing to do OP. If only everyone could be kind to others. I try to do small acts of kindness often.

I parked a tiny old lady's car for her, she was trying to pull in next to mine and nearly scraped it and the one the other side. Some wanker was sat there tooting his horn at her so I told him to behave himself and backed the car out and reversed it in. I bet he had somewhere terribly important to be

Near to where I live the traffic lights weren’t working and an elderly lady was stood in the middle of the road with her trolley in the heavy rain and wind waiting for someone to let her go however no one did so I span my car out on to the opposite side of the road got out carried her bags across for her.. didn’t even get a thank you but I shrugged it off because I thought Maybe I’ve just saved a life

I regularly do this.

I had a friend who couldn't afford Christmas a few years ago, so I (anonymously!)left a bag of Christmas decorations, Christmas crackers, a Christmas pudding and £20 cash on her doorstep.

Her family found out it was me and always remember.

I'd probably just have ended up buying more stuff for me that I don't actually need....lol

I would have been the tiny old lady in this scenario .

She was so sweet and had her little mate her who had a walking frame. I don't think that dolt was expecting to have a deal with an ornery London bird, he certainly shut up when he saw me walking over

Wow. Still a super nice thing to do though. I love hearing anything like this, it helps me believe that more of us are kind than unkind. And I want to believe it so badly.

,

More of us *are* kind than unkind, it's just that kindness rarely makes headlines and it seems to be widely thought that good deeds should be kept quiet. I reckon that the more people talk about doing kind things the more it encourages others to follow suit.
