This has probably been done to death but I don't care.
I think friendships can be just as real online as they can in real life in 3D. The support I've got off here, and I know others do too, is very real.
People say 'oh it's only online' but it's still real people sending and reading the messages.
Anyway, I just want to big up all the lovely people on fab and make a thread for that because there are loads of threads about the negative side of here. Let's have some for the positive side.
Thanks in particular to one who's made me smile and cry and has made me feel like I'm not alone. Even when I sometimes think I am.

Yes it is 'just' online, but I think it would be difficult to continue a back and forth of messages over a period of time without the real person behind the messages coming through.
I have found the acceptance I have experienced on Fab, especially in the forums, truly uplifting.

I completely agree with you Raven! I've met so many incredible people online who know my darkest secrets! I could trust them with my life. I'm glad you've had good experiences too.  |

To those that say it isn't real I say....I ain't no apparition!! 
And nor are they - yes we may be separated by a broadband connection but we're still interacting - still connecting with one another at some level - there are people on here who I've never met for whom I feel a great deal of friendship for - as strong as some of my "real life" friends - we may interact in a different medium but we still interact and for that I am thankful  |

If by our own experiences we can help others unload, understand, feel as though they have value, hope, belief and at times be inspired or themselves be an insiparion, then we can learn. Learn about others AND ourselves.
We all have a story, a lesson and a future.

That's what I love about this site. Loads slate it but I've had some proper heartfelt messages off here. I've poured my heart out to relative strangers and I've laughed and cried with them. Strangers reach out to each other and offer support, friendship and this is without ever meeting some of them x |

It's nice not to be judged by folk and its good to be myself.. I do confess not many women give the likes of me the time of day but there are a few. I am grateful for that |

It's so annoying to hear someone say it's not real online as the people messaging each other are real, it's just a different way of communicating.
There are so many amazing people I've met online and its turned into a real life 3D friendship or more and if it wasnt for places like fab I'd never have met them.
Fab is what you make it, it's a tool to use but the people on it are very real |

I do think however, that people and personalities will naturally gravitate to those who have a similar nature / outlook to themselves. Some people just don’t rub along well at all.....
Since I joined and attended clubs / socials - the names to faces - I have established some great friendships - cyber or in person. You included OP

I have lots of people I talk to on here who I consider good friends and who I hope in turn see me as a friend. Some I chat to every day, some more infrequently but we pick up our conversations so easy x |
