Cannot rem_mber if I have asked this before or not, but...
Does anyone else see colours during sex?
You're there enjoying yourself, eyes close, in the moment and your head suddenly fills with colour. It can be any colour, really vivid colours and sometimes not so vivid...
Or am I just very strange and broken! most recent colour was gold with turquoise... |

I never have. It may be commonplace, but if you're concerned you should see a doctor about it. You may have synaesthesia, which could be a symptom of something that needs looking at. |

 What is synaesthesia, just had a google... jesus... the word February is a dark brown in my head and Decemebr January are Black...

But you don't only see colours during sex.
Your brain is wired up differently so that words, emotions and smells can evoke colours.
I occasionally associate courses with certain smells.
If you have always had it, I doubt it's anything to worry about. |

Doctors are surprisingly hard to shock when it comes to sex. You're more likely to surprise them by being open with them from the start, rather than letting embarrassment get in the way. |

I have synaesthesia and can see gorgeous moving shapes and colours to music and during sex ( less to sex than music but combine the two and we are cooking with gas ) I also can physically describe an orgasm ( for example I might say it was like a deep orange and brown plant-like structure that 'bloomed' - that would be a very 'obvious' comparison as an example, and they are extremely varied. I also sometimes connect to the orgasm of the person I'm with but nowhere near as often.
I've also had the prettiest tiny orgasm through thought alone, it was exquisite !

You beat me to it. I was going to do a thread about synaesthesia. I see colours and shapes when I listen to music. There's a particular synthesiser organ sound I hear on a particular track which sounds light blue to me. I asked my other half if she thought it was blue and she had no opinion on its colour. But it is definitely blue. Luke |

Thank you, I've never given it much thought, it has always been there and I thought it was normal to see colours in words etc until I started this thread and have googled! |

If you've always had it, then no cause for concern. In fact, look at it as having a superpower, you are better than mere humans 
And if you want to get a skin tight lycra costume and fight crime as Synesthesia Woman, I'm sure we can find a few people here who would enjoy seeing the photos... |

You are not a genius but you are lucky. I'd love to experience synasthesia.
Some that have it are very musical. They see pitch as colour ......
Some years ago I saw a machine on t.v. that helped blind people to 'see'. The machine read colour and made a different pitch for each colour. So if the machine was held over a red apple or a green apple the person knew which was which.... I bet it's come even further since then too.
You have a well developed sense. Not something that needs curing.
That's like saying... oi.. my son Beethoven puts the sounds together and makes music. Can you cure him please. |

It can be a symptom of something if it develops suddenly. If it's something OP has had since birth then less likely. |
