A question to those that grew up when grunge broke out big or just appreciate the genre. What are your top 3 grunge albums from the 90's? Mine:
Siamese Twins - Smashing Pumpkins
Core - Stone Temple Pilots
Dirt - Alice in Chains
Nirvana is my favourite group overall but not one album in my top three |

"Nirvana are the creators of grunge for me. So in order.....
In utero
In cesti cide
Nirvana Unplugged
Fuzz"
That's the strange thing! They are my favourite grunge band but not one of their albums was a flawless masterpiece with no throw away tracks like the albums I mentioned |

Can’t believe you missed bleach it’s the best!
Just remembered Beneath the remains, is that grunge? |

"No.1 has to be Bleach.
vulgar display of power
Siamese Twins
Ten
Too many great albums.."
Great choices but not sure Pantera could be classed as grunge
Pearl Jam's Ten is a masterpiece but even in high school there was debate if they were grunge or just hard rock without the 80's cheese and posing |

Inces ti cide is my favourite nirvana album. Tracks are raw, unpolished and captures the band's essence |

That's why Nevermind's not there, too pop/commercial. For me though, those albums are flawless. Horses for courses I guess.

I wasn't aquatinted with Bleach until the end of my grunge days, so didn't have the same impact for me. Still you're right, it is a very good album and I was struggling between bleach and unplugged. Unplugged won purely for the covers.

I only asked for 3 but that's quite a good list! Badmotorfinger is such an awesome album. Chris Cornell's high notes on Slaves and Bulldozers give me goosebumps every time! R.I.P. |

Silverchair! Their debut album was brilliant! All the more considering they were all 15/16 at the time. Cannot believe Daniel Johns has disavowed the album |

Aww Silverchair!!
I remember lying in a hospital after dislocating my hip with a heap of CDs in a portable case thing. One day of the 10 days I opened it to find my In cest I cide Cd clean smashed!! Gutted I told my story to an Aussie intern who, the next day, brought me in two Silverchair EPs and Frogstomp.
That was when I was 11 I’m now 34 I remember it so well |

Yeah, Bleach, Gish, and probably Badmotorfinger for me.
Singles soundtrack is a good shout. A lot of the other bands mentioned had some exceptional songs but the quality was a bit patchy on albums. |

Tad, just lots of Tad.
For that slightly post-grunge moment, Gentleman by the Afghan Whigs.
Good album that.
But Black Love though. Ooooohhhhh.. "
