With my hair changing texture and volume from being peri menopausal, I thought it was time to try a new shampoo and conditioner after 11 years of the same one and by gum I can feel the difference of a nourishing shampoo.
Since all of the websites claim exactly the same thing of how brilliant it is I went down to price sort them in my local supermarket.
What do you do when you buy shampoo? are you a brand follower or a chuck anything in the trolley if its half price?

I have had some pretty grim reactions to shampoos in the past. I've stuck with the same one (bought on the advice of my hairdresser) for well over ten years now and not had an issue with it, so I've no plans to change it! |

I've used Herbal Essences for about 15 years but they keep discontinuing which ever one I'm using. Tried using cheaper brands but always leaves my hair dry and annoying. Theres something weird going on with it anyway, since I entered my 40s. |

"I'm looking for a good shampoo and conditioner to combat greasy hair, it's not for me so I've got no idea which one to get, not sure if anyone has found a brand that works well."
I had greasy hair as a teen and the tresemme cleanse and replenish shampoo and conditioner (green label) was the only thing that allowed me to go to every other day with hair washing. |

"I find a brand and stick to it until it no longer works for me.
I sometimes get skin reactions to my shampoos and it's incredibly annoying. It's the main reason why I change "
Could you get free samples from the shampoo company's when you are skin testing? |

"I buy L'Oreal Elvive. I alternate between fibrology and clay. "
Seconding Elvive. I have waist length hair, washed every day. I alternate between the long hair (orange) which smells like holidays and whatever the pink one is! |

I don’t shampoo, I follow the curly girl method; all the conditioner! It takes great research and trial and error for the right one, it’s a nightmare when shops run out! I can’t have silicones and alcohol (plus a whole list of other stuff) in my conditioner otherwise it frizzes my hair up! |

I use L’Oréal Elvive for coloured hair. I have lots of hair & it’s very thick. I wash it not more than once a week (I try to go 2 weeks). I rarely dry it or straighten it. I find this helps with dermatitis.
If I feel a build up I use Polytar which smells vile but is good for scalp & strips all the shampoo & conditioner build up.
Our hair changes as we reach peri-menopause & for men too as testosterone levels decrease. |

Liz Earle stuff has been good for me with this, they have a phone help line to answer questions that are unique to you, they can only say it won't help, plus they have a returns policy on which you can get your money back if need be. |

I’m glad someone else has this issue! I used to have lovely sleek naturally poker straight hair but i hit 40 and it turned into a curly/wavy frizzy mop. I actually quite like the wildness of it but it’s the dryness that is a pain.
To be honest nothing i’ve used has made a significant difference, i just have to remember to always use conditioner.

I have always had a curly frizzy mop. I found that rubbing a bit of conditioner through my hair and leaving it in worked well. Also never use hairspray or dry shampoo as it wrecks your hair. Wax or similar for styling and rarely use a hair dryer or straighteners and I never brush it. Never have , just use my fingers. |
