.... and spend just one day in the past. You can go anywhere in the world.
Maybe there was an event you would have like to have seen?
Apollo 11 launching?
Live Aid gig?
Watching your parent's get married?
A day with dinosaurs?
Watching The Birdie Song being recorded and sabotaging it so the event never took place and the song never existed?
I can't decide on one, but a day in 1950's America would be cool, but would also be great to see a Dinosaur.

To many points in history I would like to visit and see what it was really like.
However the time I would like to go back to, is the four early mornings my grandparents passed away; just to be there too see them one last time, hold their hand so they know someone is there and don’t pass away on their own |

It broke my heart when I found out Laika was left to die on Sputnik 2.
So I would go back and try to squeeze into the craft to cuddle Laika and shower her with love before she passed
(Granting I get to come back that is!) |

All equally good points... my only thinking was.. these jerks are affecting us NOW! Those jerks affected us in the past.. (not in any way saying what any of them did wasn't horrific in any way) |

"Has anyone put stopping Trump and or Johnson being born yet???
I wouldn't put either of them ahead of stopping Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, Milosevic, Idi Amin, Franco or Robert Mugabe..."
This always makes me think, how would it change history if such a person hadn’t had been born. Would there have been someone else step up in their place who was even more evil ? |

There's an excellent Ben Elton book 'Time And Time Again' that addresses this by sending a time traveller back to stop the outbreak of WW1 - the theory being it would stop the senselessness of that war, whilst also removing the resulting events that led to WW2 - the outcome was quite thought provoking.
Stephen King does similar with 11.22.63 around the Kennedy assassination |

I imagine if Hitler had died of his injuries in WW1 there wouldn't have been a Nazi party or Holocaust, and perhaps many beautiful historical European towns and cities wouldn't have been obliterated by the allied bombing campaign (and rebuilt as ugly brutalist things in the 60's), but then again Stalin was just as brutal and expansionist so perhaps he would have invaded Europe anyway. |

"I'd love to go back a watch my parents play as children.
I've also often wondered how the world would work if history were different.."
Re your parent's. That'd be nice.
My parents are in their 70's now. I've watched an old cine film of them in their 20's having a pillow fight. It was lovely to see them playful and young. |

Hitler may not have, but as we know there were plenty of others just as twisted and hell bent on some of his ideals that may well have been more prominent or possibly worse.
As the book I mentioned in a previous post explores, the effects of the First World War on Germany meant it was ripe for the rise to power of someone capable of finding a common enemy to blame for the state of the country and rouse the people based on that blame. So chances are if it hadn't been Hitler it would have been someone else. |

If i could time travel the first thing I would do is tell a teenage me to not fuck things up. I'd listen to 41 year old me as well. As for events in history, maybe watch Jimmy Hendrix at Woodstock fucked off my tits. |
