Isn't there some theory that as long as the first and last letter of any word is in place, the mind will place the others in order therefore even written incorrectly, you can understand it ? |

It's not just a theory chick..... when we read (those who can proficiently) a lot of the time we don't read the actual words/letters, the brain finds it quicker to recognise shapes and then works out what the word should be... hence why it is easier to read lowercase type. |

It's not just a theory chick..... when we read (those who can proficiently) a lot of the time we don't read the actual words/letters, the brain finds it quicker to recognise shapes and then works out what the word should be... hence why it is easier to read lowercase type."

Which is why road signs are printed in lower case.
On a side note - surely this only works because we spend years and years reading things spelled properly so that we learn the word shapes. If we started off in life reading a whole bunch of jumbled letters (grouped per word, obviously) then I'm sure life would be a lot harder and we'd all read at the same speed as some of the cretins out there on the internet!
