Consequence of government cuts plus everyone has just been told they are losing their child tax credits

If you find one, save a couple of bullets for the next time I have to ring MBNA to chase my PPI claim up !

Finally spoke to someone after 73 minutes. She couldn't deal with it so has sent a mail to her colleagues with my query. Apparently I will hear from them in about 3 weeks as that is how long it is taking them to work through their internal mail. Do you think it would take that long if I owed them money and not the other way round?

I had exactly the same thing with HMRC yesterday. Sat on hold for 47 minutes, only to eventually be told 'I can't give you that information over the phone, but I can post it to you - it can take up to 14 days to arrive'. Why?

She then told me I could probably find the info I need on their website (I couldn't; that was why I was on the phone in the first place) - I asked her to explain to me how to find it, she said I'd have to ring another number. No thanks! Still, could have been worse, at least it wasn't the fire service..

Far longer....When I worked in the collections team, we were dealing with 18 month old Self Assessment debts, though PAYE payments were much more up to date (within 4 weeks of deadline).... That was about 5 years ago now.....

a Primark shoebox in Leicester

I've been waiting 4 months for a cheque for money they owe me. I was thinking about ringing them today, but I don't think I'll bother if it means losing over an hour of my life.

What music did they play you, I wonder?

It always used to be Vivaldi's Four Seasons - I think they imagined it would be relaxing, but after ten minutes or so I'd be trying to bash my own brains out on the desk.

some kind of jazz,it sounded a bit like a fire in a petshop. I put it on speaker and just waited for a human voice..and waited..and waited....

I love HMRC send a tax return every year in print, phone them and all you get is can someone fill it out. No they bloody well can not, we'll you could use an accountant and are you going to pay them. Then it is your reasponsibity to submit information.. Reply back is its a requirement in law that you make your service accessible for me to use. Never mind kill all the lawyer lets start with the tax
