Your normal accent

Does your accent change when you’re with your family? I go a wee bit more Scottish when I’m with mine, so does C. But when we’re with his, our accents don’t change

I had a friend growing up who we all knew was from Newcastle, but we didn’t hear her accent until we went over to hers for tea one night, and yep. Proper thick Geordie accent

Yep. Mine goes full on posh mode. Elongated vowels that last longer than most fucks, chuck in a few yahs here and there and the odd darling as well. I try and tone it down normally because it's very marmite but a weekend spent with them and I sound like a twunt.

Mine is just the same. If I'm down south, I sometimes feel my accent is stronger but it's maybe because it doesn't blend in as much.

English with a Welsh lilt, diluted because I spent so much time in other regions.

Mine doesn't really change, but when I'm speaking on the phone I tend to try to speak more clearly. But then I think most people have a bit of a 'phone voice'

I don't have an English based accent.

Some accents I struggle with though.

Communication is really important to me and if I can't relax and chat then it turns me off

Funny thing is my normal Essex accent seems to go out the window once I'm in the bedroom. Usually I lose the ability to think and just descend into a series of moans x

Liverpool

I have the opposite. The longer I spend in Liverpool the more I pick up scouseisms. If I spend a while outside the area my accent goes back to my weak south London accent.

Soft Geordie. Lost my accent because of living elsewhere. Lots of people say I don't have much of an accent but it comes when I'm with mates.

There and to the left a bit

I tend to pick up accents quite easily, especially if I spend any length of time in an area, or with someone who has one, but most of the time it stays pretty much the same

I’m similar. People generally think I speak the queens English/public school accent. If they have to guess they say West Country. I’ve not been to that part of the world before! It’s just the slight bit of my Scottish roots coming out and rolling my R’s a bit. More of my accent comes out though when with someone with a strong Scottish accent and I start to use Scottish words again

With my family I tend to sound slightly more scouse, when I'm with work colleges it turns more welsh haha.
