Desert, I've no idea, I've never made one but I'd look up what's good and give it a go. "

And what would be for dessert? "

I've been intending on learning to make a vegetarian lasagne, for if I ever have the need to make one. |

For dessert, a nice panna cotta with spiced BlackBerry coulis.
How many am I catering for?"
Sounds lush! |

My party piece is Tuna Plait.
Red peppers, celery, tuna, chives, mayo and lemon pepper seasoning in a puff pastry plait.
With salad and soft baby potatoes, skin on.
Dessert would be something light and fruity.
I literally judge people with it.... If you don't like it you're a wrong'un! |

Home made beef casserole, baby spuds, and a glass of the ladies favourite ripple.... for desert, strawberry cheesecake, or a plain ole Victoria sponge |

I love cooking. I'd probably do a pasta based dish as they're quick easy and tasty. Though I can do a pretty mean curry from scratch too. Meat/veggie/vegan no problem. |

Obvs I’d check with said person for any food intolerances, if they were vegan / vegetarian and their alcohol preferences before deciding what’s on the menu (apart from me!)
One can’t assume your taste in food will be to their taste these days! |

Depends who is coming round and whether I want to serve or just put heaped dishes in the middle and let everyone help themselves.
If I'm serving then in this weather it would be something carb-heavy and warmly spiced, so maybe pasticcio or slow cooked lamb with pasta.
If it's a middle-of-the-table jobbie then lamb tagine with herby lemon couscous and loads of olives, balsamic onions, spiced peas and beans and flatbreads with dips.
If it's a more intimate dinner for two then steak with chimichurri. Always a winner. |

No go to meal. I'd ask what they like to eat, and maybe get them to join me in the kitchen. Sharing the fun bits of cooking with another, it's part of the joy of life....
Who knows I might even end up as the desert.... |

Agreed, I get my guests to plait the pastry on mine, can be such a giggle. Especially if they've had a glass already |

Smoked paprika prawn skewers on a garnish
Ribeye steak cooked as you like it with bearnaise sauce, stuffed field mushrooms and an olive and feta salad.
I'd struggle with a dessert that's not in a box too.. |

If it's a 'date' I find food just gets in the way.
Maybe ill prep stuffed peppers .. courgettes, pine nuts, olives, sundried tomatoes and feta cheese, cous cous to shove in the oven to roast once were hungry.
For sweet stuff .. nice ice cream with home made choc sauce and roasted nuts. |

My go to meal would come from the local chineese takeaway and my party peice is bench pressing my sofa with the dinner quest on it...
Shows both my sophisticated palette and rugged manliness all in one hit... |
