Not sure it’s new - but it’s certainly more obvious! I briefly checked out page 1 last week - only to find that 3 of the top 4 fabbed photos contained a message asking people to fab their photo if they’d like to fuck their arse etc - think one offered to choose a guy at random!
What amazes me is that guys actually fall for that bullshit!
I once - purely as a joke - put up a pic and said on my profile that if it got 500 fabs in an hour, I’d have a ‘revolving door’ gangbang - then asked if someone could ‘borrow’ the door from John Lewis!
Within a few hours I was top of page 1!

Never asked for my pics to be fabbed, my profile pic when first put on was fabbed a lot and quickly and I made page 2. Didn't find it a confidence boost or like the attention but it was fun and shocked me more than anything.
Surprises me what makes it and what doesn't and I found it quite intriguing that that pic was popular against some of the others I have.

Now this is just me right but I wish you wasn’t allowed to put a status asking for fabs or saying will fuck for fabs or anything similar. It doesn’t create an even playing field. It never used to be like that. Each picture would get there on its own merit and that’s how it should be. |

Because self esteem is fragile and competition for attention is fierce. Everybody these days does it, maybe not so overtly, maybe in places different to Fab, but we are all searching for some form of validation because so much of life is spiritually empty. I wouldn’t knock people for finding ways to feel better about themselves. In the grand scheme of things, fabbing a picture isn’t really a big deal. |

I never even think to look, I don't even like the "compliments" I get messaged. Pretty much all of them are gonna be from people I'm not even close to being attracted to so it's truly meaningless. If someone tells me I've done or said something nice then I'm chuffed but I couldn't give less of a fuck what people think of my pictures. They're a tiny part of who I am.
Years ago on my old profile, when I was 11 stone heavier than I am now, one of my pictures got to number 2 on hot pics and stayed in the top ten for 2 weeks. You wouldn’t even believe the shit I got for it off women who obviously saw themselves as better and more superior than me just because they weighed less than I did. Their only purpose on here was attention seeking and it knocked me sick some of the things that was said to me. Hate vanity. It’s a disgusting trait to have in my opinion x"
Really? I’m really sorry to read this. I’ve had issues with people saying things behind my back but they’ve never had the guts to message me as they know I’d wipe the floor with them.
However - most women I find prefer to encourage and empower others - which is how it should be!
I think most people are, deep down, flattered when they get fabs. It is, as you say, a tiny aspect of who and what they are - but nevertheless as humans most of us seek approval from others at times.
Actually by dint of posting on most threads we’re sharing an opinion or experience in the hope that others will respond, relate or approve - aren’t we?
The daily fabbing threads (I’ve been on fab for 6 years and I’ve seen them every day) tell us how important that approval is to many - even though it’s packaged as ‘just a bit of fun’!
I guess I’m just saying we’re a complicated species who all seek validation at some stage. Maybe those who post pics daily and ask for fabs daily (btw - I’m running out of rich tea biscuits if anyone fancies a trip to Tesco?) - be it in a vulgar and direct way or a more subtle way like a fabbing thread - just need more validation than some of us? |

Isn’t there an irony in that you don’t have any at all?
People are putting themselves out there - taking a risk. I’m one of the minority who often shows my face - but on a site like this there’s a risk associated with that and on occasion that risk has bitten me in the arse - but it’s also enabled me to meet some great people and have some great experiences - because people know me and approach me in clubs etc.
Whether you fab theirs - or mine - or anyone else’s pics isn’t the important part - what is is that we’re all taking a risk to get what we want - whether that’s simply the validation of being ‘number 1’ - acceptance for who we are - or just a meet!

I had my face on show for years on a fetish site but I've now had 4 years of stalking and harrassment from an ex so I don't anymore. I made all my pictures that showed any of me at all friends only on the other side for about a year before deciding I wasn't going to let him have that control over me any more. I still don't feel quite as care free as I used to though, hence no face pictures. |
