What do you think when you see statuses? Do you even pay attention to them or are they something you scan over but don't give a second thought to? Do you post your own statuses? If so, what do you use them for?
I ask because my local status updates are regularly full of ladies writing about the negativity they have come across and are usually by the same people. At first I used to think they were unfortunate to have a bad experience on Fab and are trying to warn folk. However, the more regularly that the same people post about negative experiences the more I start to think that the only thing I can be sure of is that the poster is the common denominator and perhaps they bring the negativity on themselves.
This might seem like a negative thread itself and for that I apologise, I'm just curious to know other peoples take on the matter. |

Yes I look at everything on a profile if the pics initially attract me. Statuses can be a good filter too, revealing things that are not written permanently on their profile. I mainly use status to stress to read my profile before messaging, still not working with many |

I sometimes put up a status. I have one at the moment!
Lots of guys whining about not getting a shag is what I often see. Or "have a big load, who wants it"? Is another popular one.
I sometimes use them as a filter and block guys due to them. |

Well from you say, you would probably class my statuses as bringing negativity on myself. However, it's usually to get a reaction or vent my frustrations about the negative approaches as a woman you can get on here. It's all about having fun at the end of the day. |

I'm not knocking you or anyone, honestly, it's just when I see the same people posting negatively again and again then I start to associate them with negativeness if you get me.

I put one up the other day saying I was working the night shift so wasn’t meeting.,,I still got a message asking if I wanted to meet.
I pointed him to my status and he said he never reads them. |

I read the ones on my updates. I find them funny and amusing at times also a good way to filter people who keep putting up the same negative ones. I personally don't see the point of putting up ranting veris no matter how frustrating it can be. If I get a day like that I just log off here and enjoy real life. Negative statutes are really off putting if it's constantly being put up by the same people. |

It's pretty obvious to me also that a lot of people dont read statuses or even profile text considering the amount of messages I still get from guys. Probably a larger percentage than I might think just look at the pictures before messaging. Also, as said above, I tend to use peoples statuses now as an extra filter too |

I read all statuses in my local updates as I'm naturally nosy. If I can help someone with advice concerning their status I message then about it. If their status is offering money or presents for meets or is mentioning drugs then I report them, if it's naming and shaming or disrespectful to anyone in a majorly bad way I also report. |

I've started reporting a few myself also, definitely those looking for someone to "spoil them" with gifts in exchange for a meet. |

I sometimes like to check out my local updates. Sadly there are a lot of negative statuses and also the “need my balls emptying” ones..... has this ever worked?!
If I come across something a bit different or entertaining then I might message the person, or hotlist them.
I rarely put up statuses myself any more due to some stalker-like issues in the past. |

I look at statues on my updates(people I know) don't really bother with local ones as I'm currently not looking for new meets, but then I tend to post statues aimed at the people I know or about clubs, events or parties I'm attending, but sometimes like this morning I post them coz I'm fed up of people not reading my profile or harrising my inbox, then as has just happened people send you abuse for posting a update, sadly fab is not the place it was 10 years ago hence why I no longer meet of here unless they are already attending somewhere I am going |

I like reading them, it gives extra insight into a person. There's loads of funny ones, you can see who's headed to clubs, etc. The ones that need their balls draining now get blocked and the ones offering drugs/money for meets get reported. I don't need that showing on the updates page. The negative ones (about fab/women, not depressed ones) I'm always tempted to message to give a kick up the backside. |

hiding from cock pics. |
I do like really status updates but I find it hard to read them often because my feed can be full of cock shots and those doesn't appeal to me personally.
The status update that are funny most appeal, I have messaged people if they are needing help or assistance and I am able to offer them advice, the ones that make me roll my eyes other ones that say stuff like if I don't get to messages today I'm off, renew my faith... etc |

I like them. I only really take notice of ones from people on my friends and hotlist. I think they are a great way to give some insight into your mood, personality, what you're looking for etc. I put a status out the other day for picture recommendations and that was really helpful and gave me some new ideas.
If women are complaining on their status just leave them to it! Saying that though, I have seen far more men complaining on here. |

I used to put up song lyrics, but people didn't 'get' it. I had some very odd messages off the back of some of my statuses. |

I just got people saying either wtf, or you got the words wrong. They seemed to miss the changes were usually deliberate.... |

I used to put quirky quotes up and got quite a few good conversations out of them...
As for others, I like the ones that say 'thanks for a great night...you know who you are' as they make great filters |

Yeah, I love daft humour, but some people don't like it directly. So I put absurd nonsense as our status a lot, which does bring some fun attention at times.
"As for others, I like the ones that say 'thanks for a great night...you know who you are' as they make great filters "
Yes! I was going to comment on these! And ones that say "Wow, awesome night at the club!!" and we were also there, and specifically recognised them just sitting alone much of the time looking very bored :D Such a marketing game! |

I generally always have a status up.... And always read others. Its like a window to the soul...
I was chatting to someone for a while and the statuses started asking for drugs for meets.... I don't bother anymore |

The attention seeking posts don't attract me to view a profile.
Some status's are useful. I had one meet because of a status
Some are amusing and make me chuckle. |
