margate sumwear by the sea

In case you didn't know it's a new war film out.

It's based in world war 1.

It is a fantastic film.

It's been filmed in a simular way to Dunkirk.

Very little dialogue as the music and the seens ses everything.

It's a must see movie.

Sam Mendes who directed and co-wrote the film based it on the stories his grandfather told him of his own experiences in the first world war. Its a beautiful, brutal, sad and terrifying film and shows the sheer stupidity and waste of war. I came out of the cinema feeling exhausted and thought I wasnt sure if I could bear to sit through such a powerful experience again but a couple of days after seeing it I now want to find an IMAX showing to see it again. 10/10

Just it would have been nice to have a film out in 2017 called 1917.

Loved the continuous filming scenes in this film. More walk throughs less “cuts”

We watched it last weekend absolutely fabulous film , make a change to watch a film in a pure natural environment without CGI

I fully agree.

CGI is good but sometimes it's better to have no CGI at all.

Incredible film we saw it on IMAX, it was a surreal experience you felt you were travelling with them through the trenches feeling the unexpected and shocking events.

One of the best films I've seen in a very long time, great story, brilliant acting & the camerawork & direction is breathtaking.

Brings home the true horror of war.

Go and see it at the cinema folks, TV screen won't do it justice.

Is it one you can take older folks to? If it's all massive special effects explosions and loads of four letter words then I wouldn't want to take my OAP's.

Yes it is. And it has almost no special effects.

Just saw it tonight and loved it, fantastic film and really brings home the horror of war, as well as the tremendous courage of some individuals.

Near Wells

I saw it last weekend at my local cinema. When leaving after the film the audience was very quiet and I wasn't sure about it.

A few days later I realised it was a great film and I had enjoyed it very much.

Yes when I saw it when it finished unlike other films the hole cinema left in almost slice.

But not silent from a bad film but silent with respect and thought for those that had fought in the war and for thos that had fallen in it.

Just back from seeing it and very good it is too - really like the way the camera barely leaves the two main protagonists for probably the first 30 minutes or so, leaving you to pick out all that is happening around them - it's moving and thought provoking without actually trying to be so, which just adds to how moving it is

Chams or Socials

We watched it last night & loved it. I found myself gripping the arms of my chair & shed a few tears.

We don’t go to the cinema often but this is definitely one to be seen on a big screen.
