All dressed up and nowhere to go

I (her) have got myself all dressed up to go out and enjoy myself..... on a 13 mile run only to find the roads and pavements have been visited by Jack Frost.

Nearly half a mile into the run I turned into Torville & Dean or more like a shreaking T-Rex waving my arms and slipping across the road and into a hedge!

Needless to say I survived unscathed but now I need to wait a few hours for sun to warm the surfaces and I need to reconsider my route.... grrr

I was also mentally prepared for the run and feel wired now. Oh well such is life.

Walk instead until the frost starts to thaw, then you are already out

I could and it was a beautiful walk back home but I need to run it as I am training for a marathon, plus I cant risk injury through falling on ice. X

"Oh no "

I know, I am gutted tbh. It's such a beautiful day out there and I want to run through the stunning countryside as it's my happy place

Count yourself lucky! My street was white this morning and cars double parked. Car was sliding everywhere, downsides to a rear whee drive haha!!

Our estate was horrendous too, it was all gone by the time I went back out in the afternoon. Thankfully

I live next to the beach front. So I was quite shocked at how icy it was this morning. Car was sliding everywhere and I had to crawl through the estate.

Just be careful if you do decide to brave it and run next time! It’s bloody lethal!!

When I lived in Glasgow I invested in these little slip on grippy things for my running shoes. I survived everything the Scottish winter could throw at me and got plenty of incredulous looks from people trying to walk and slipping everywhere as I ran past.

I bought my bf a pair of those. Were they suitable for road running?
