A painting found is worth over 50 million! I just saw this on the news earlier.
How do they justify the price of paintings. F#cking ridiculous!
What else do you think is over priced? |

I was in a bicycle shop awhile ago and I saw a man pay more to have his bike serviced than people pay to have a car serviced.
One of the bicycles was over 4 grand! I asked the salesman if it was gold plated lol.
He said some as over 7grand! |

For any hobby there are extreme ends of the spectrum that people will go to either to satisfy themselves or get that ‘performance’ edge.
So a bike for £4K might not be faster than one for £2k, but it will make someone happier.
Spending £50m on a painting that looks no better than one at £500 might also not make you any faster (hmm, this analogy isn’t working out), but sure as hell you can boast to your mates about it. And if your lucky write it off against your tax somehow.

Five Guys burgers, stupidly expensive for what it is, but also so tasty that I begrudgingly pay it every time I get the urge
Extra content for games as well, I wish the developers would just release complete games like they used to have to, instead of releasing a half finished game for £50, then trying to charge a further £20 or more a few weeks later to unlock extra maps or missions etc. I refuse to pay that unless it's an exceptional game like The Witcher. |

It’s not the price, it’s the value. The value is whatever someone is willing to pay. If no one is willing to pay, it has no value. |

There and to the left a bit |
Thing is the painting was by a famous artist who is now dead and both original and unique so will always attract a higher price because of it - which applies to anything of that sort.
Would I pay that price if I had the money? Probably not. Do I think it is worth that value? Then given what it is etc then yes I do.

Pairings, antiques , certain gold and diamonds are assets that you can enjoy so it’s not a cost you’re just temporarily exchanging one type of investment for another.
Public transport is overpriced compared to most countries. |

"£12 for two cappuccinos and two cookies in Starbucks today. Bloody daylight robbery "
Unfortunately another example of “rip off UK”, we’re in Portugal, amazing non branded coffee on sale everywhere you go for €0.50, yep, half a Euro! Starbucks is cheaper in NYC than anywhere in the UK |

You're paying for innovate innovation and materials if you intend to use the thing for the purpose it was made for I would managing the difference between a 5 K and a 7 k machine would be truly massive same as the difference between buying a Kia to buy on a Range Rover |

You think it's worth that kind of money!
I wouldnt pick it up off a tip. I've seen better paintings done by a child. |

Just around the corner from the expensive one in Cardiff, it costs a tenner for the same job.
