I got down to my absolute best shape 20 months ago (for me, people tell me I got too thin) you can see it in my first photos... lost 4 stone in weight and went from a 47min 5k run to a 26min one.

Put some weight back on, my uniform doesn’t fit and that has demotivated me a lot. but I am running the London Marathon in April so slowly but surely I feel my fitness coming back! Hope to get back into shape by then and maintain it... which is the most challenging bit!

Mine is going the right way, but at the moment for the wrong reasons

I'm down from, at my peak, a size 24. About a 14 at the moment.

Clinically no longer obese. Aiming to lose probably a stone and a half give or take, although that's final weight (muscle gain too) not just fat loss.

My appetite has vanished which is entirely unlike me.

Gym work going from strength to strength.

Not great. Treading water at the moment having put weight back on last year. I haven’t checked my weight for a week or so, so maybe I need to see where I am now having got back into the routine again. I need to make some alterations to my diet too.

I’m 10st down from 12 (in about 2 years, slow body transformation) 10.5% body fat down from 18%.

I want to bulk up now but don’t want to take protein supplements. Gonna need to eat some chicken and push some weights.

Manchester (she/her)

I've discovered the joy of doing this without beating myself up. It's easier now.

Yes, I have goals, but they're sort of just a direction to go in. Not "I'm terrible/hideous/unworthy if the label on my pants is bigger than number X".

I'm celebrating my body and my physical and mental strength. Trying new manoeuvres in the gym at the moment which are stressing a long term deficit from an injury. Feel the fear, do it anyway. See what's possible.

Apart from physical well-being, I've stopped giving a shit what I weigh. How do I feel in my body? What am I capable of? Can I push it further?

It's liberating.

Lost a stone and half doing HIIT, changing my diet and some weights from last November til April. Have had amazing feedback how I look much younger, thinner, different person etc and dropped 2 trouser sizes. Been wanting to drop my weight for the last 20 years without success. HIIT and some great diet tips were a revelation.

Haven't had time to continue since April and get that toned body look I wanted. Finding it really hard to fit in. Never went to the gym, was always using YouTube at home but even that I can't seem to find a slot

I’ve managed to gain almost 5kgs in just over two weeks. Just from eating better, cutting out energy drinks (was addicted, only have one to kill withdrawal now and again) and bettering my sleeping pattern!

Signed up to the gym but haven’t set foot in there yet. Mostly because I have a bit of a ‘thing’ for a colleague that works there and she’s offered to help me train. A little scared I will admit

Thank you! Came off a medication about four years ago, lost about half of the weight it made me gain quite easily. The rest is self worth and doing these things for myself. Knock on effects.

Just before I started on the medication

(six years ago) II bought an expensive for me coat which I loved. Only wore it a few times.

Discovered just before Christmas that it fits me again. I cried.

I think that’s the right way to do it.

I only look at numbers to check if I’m progressing in the direction I want as visually the difference is not noticeable month over month. Numbers are a monitor, not a goal. The goal is feeling good in my skin.

I'm working on losing a stone but only really gradually. I'm happy if I stay the same. I'm concentrating more on increasing my fitness. I now swim 4-5 times a week. Only 40-50 lengths but I'm gradually building that up and might even start doing other exercise. The trouble I have is that every other form of exercise doesn't interest me so I don't stick to it.

Not even started the proper diet but I’ve been ill since last Saturday. Just keeping up with fluids & only snacking on healthy stuff.

Lost nearly a stone but I can barely move. Still, stops me eating cake a shit I shouldn’t as I have pretty much zero appetite.

Silver linings & all that! Just got to stick with the food once I’m better.

2 1/2 stone down since mid-August, with some help from a pretty nasty illness this month.

Losing more from the top than the bottom which is frustrating, as women in my family all tend to hold the most weight at lower tummy/hips area, and I'm no exception.

Looking forward to getting back into swimming and gym this week after being away from it since end of November

Not really. People will come along and say you can but one requires calorie surplus and the other requires defecit so it's a bit of a losing battle. If you increase your muscle mass but keep the same body fat percentage you will look different though. I assume that is shag's aim with his slow bulk as when people try to rapidly bulk they often gain some body fat too.

Not really. People will come along and say you can but one requires calorie surplus and the other requires defecit so it's a bit of a losing battle. If you increase your muscle mass but keep the same body fat percentage you will look different though. I assume that is shag's aim with his slow bulk as when people try to rapidly bulk they often gain some body fat too."

My aim is to put on 10kg this year without going over my current 24% body fat. If i get towards 27, ill cut back on the calories again.

My weightloss is going great! I started a new job as a postie 3 weeks ago and so far have lost a stone! No diet change at all, it’s purely down to the job. Today my Apple Watch tells me that I’ve walked 23000 steps which is 17km!

Second this. Transformed my energy levels. I then changed my diet and energy went through the roof! But Vit D is a great starting point.

Mine's going ok. I lost 30lbs last year, no diet change (indeed I still overindulge every day-off), just a job walking 10-15 miles daily

Got a bike last week and I'm enjoying it. Running had become a chore, good to have options.

But oh.. I used to be a machine, in hindsight, I miss that. Just haven't got the same anger or need to prove myself or whatever mix it was that spurred me on.

"Can i bulk, whilst simultaneously reducing body fat percentage?"

Not exactly but you can alter your diet and you must get your macros right, that way you will lose body fat at the same time as keeping similar weight and the size you have and physically look like you have been putting size with the definition gained then start to clean bulk slowly keeping almost as lean but a lot heavier with the end result

I’ve started slowly by just cutting out eating in-between meals. Once I’m happy with that I’ll start re addressing what I’m actually eating (which isn’t that bad to start with if I’m honest) so getting there. Only weighing in at the end of the month so I don’t get obsessed. One step at a time...

I assume you mean you have lost an inch of circumference not necessarily fat

I measure my fat via skin fold

An average of one mm accross my body equates just under 1 kg

A great part of your loss will be water weight not fat

If you had lost one inch 25 mm

Average Of subcutaneous fat across your skin surface area that would be close to 22 kg fat

This is not a criticism to reduce waist size by an inch in 3 weeks is fantastic

I'm just clarifying that fat can be aherm "measured" a number of ways

I'm at the other end of the scale aiming to lose just under 2mm on average of subcutaneous fat about 1.5 kg of pure fat

Should take me 6 weeks

Two compliments today about looking alot thinner and younger, plus most improved fitness wise at boxing.

So, feeling good about that, and once all injuries sorted, will actually increase the boxing and play my sport.

That's my goal, to be fit enough to play my sport and get down to a 32" waist, think hovering between a 34" and 36" at moment.

I’m interested to see what the scales have to say tomorrow.

This week my postie round has changed to what will be my regular duty. It’s half as big again compared to what I was doing the last couple of weeks. This week my step count is nearly 150K and I’ve walked between 10-11 miles a day!

I started wearing swing dresses because I hated my wobbly thunder thighs.

My thighs are now almost entirely solid. I gather the wobble at the top (adductors I think) is much more difficult to train/ get rid of, but that's muscle.

Funny how getting rid of stereotypical girly body hatred would come in the form of being a fucking boss in the weights room

Lady Voluptas is not using scales more dress sizes as a measurement..

Dropped from size 20 to 16/18. Extra walking and swimming to get fitness levels up to a reasonable level.

Hola!

Couldn’t start in January as there were too many family things going on.

However - my diet and exercise plan starts today.

I’d like to lose 1st 8lb’s by June 1st - but I’m more concerned with getting fit and healthy, losing inches and getting toned.

I’ve set myself a task of 4 hrs exercise per week - but as that includes walking it should be realistic.

I start back at the gym tonight - swimming at first until I shed the first few lbs I think.
