What’s a ‘real’ man?
Jump to: Newest in thread
"Someone who sharpens a pencil with a stanley knife and straps down trailer loads while saying "thats not going anywhere""
Haha that second one really made me chuckle!
I thought a “real man” is someone who doesn’t talk about his feelings, or shows that sometimes they struggle with life. Don’t real men walk around saying “you’ll be rate” “get on with it man” “man up ffs”?? |

For me it would be a guy who is emotionally strong and mature enough to see your faults but like you anyway. Someone who knows that the hand you’ve been dealt and the things you’ve been through can make you act up sometimes but they have the balls to see c’mon now stop being a prick.

"Keep seeing posts saying as such, can anyone define what is a ‘real’ man. "
Everyone has a different definition of a real man.
I am a real man!
(Try to be)

The terms will refer to things that users believe define masculinity or femininity.
I'm strong, stubborn, a protector of those I care about, assertive, etc... These are things people talk about being true of "real men". And here I am. A woman. |

I don't know what make a real man. But hubby is pretty damn close. My best friend. My lover. My protector. Emotionally weak enough to cry and show his feelings yet strong enough to carry on. A man that still gets up every morning with a spring in his step despite going through chemo. He still puts himself last on the list and everyone and everything is a priority above him. I adore you Cookie

"Someone who walks around with one of those pocket knife pliers thingyo’s in a little pouch on their belts "
Do they have a chain attached to their belt which keeps a minimum of 50 keys together? |

There and to the left a bit |
I think it's generally used as a backhanded derogatory term for people those that use the term don't consider to be masculine or up to their standards in some way.
I tend to give them a wide berth |

"What’s a real woman then?
Anyone who identifies as a woman
Ooo - does that mean I can be a dolphin like Gerald Bovski?"
Why would "the system" object to my use of a cartoon character's name - Bovski? |

As with they saying ‘beauty is in the eye of the beholder’ a real man would be whatever the person perceived it to be. So what one person sees a real man might be strong, protective, physical etc. Another might see it as sensitive, caring etc and someone might see it as all of that. A real man is whatever you or the person looking wants it to be |

It doesn't - it just picks up on the R-O-F-L in the middle of the name and thinks you're using the emoji |

Of course, thanks.
It's cheery to know that at least one little bit of AI is still even dafter than me |

For me it would be someone like my grandad.
Film star good looks
War hero but never gave it the big one
Sporting star in his day..but always modest.
Hard as nails. Still dropping blokes with 1 punch in his 60s... but never a bully.
Bust most of all the love he showed his family
Proper legend RIP x

All over the place! Northwesr, , Southwest |
A real man is someone who is confident, not cocky. Has a set of principles he doesn't compromise on for the sake of others. Is assertive, but not overbearing. Has clear masculine traits that are tempered with respect and consideration. Is loyal to his friends and fiercely protective of his loved ones. Doesn't seek out conflict but tackles it head on when it comes.
My take anyway. |

Perhaps it's my sense of humour, but I chuckle when someone says they want a 'real man.'
I imagine a masculine hairy man. He's probably a lumberjack, tears down trees with his hands and wrestles bears for fun.
His love making skills are very animalistic. The only sexual positiin he knows is doggy style and he is named Bob. |
