You know folk say on here they can acom

But bloody hell I think on this site there should be feedback when folk say they can acom so when folk go around to their homes and how clean and tired it is

I think some kind of tick list could put on the site so folk know it going to clean and tidy

what do folk think

I've never been to anybody else's gaff off here, they have all stopped at mine, but I make sure everything is clean and tidy, it's a good excuse to get the Barry out as well

I’d never invite people to my house. 2 teenage boys an an unhousetrained puppy live here.

I’m embarrassed for myself to walk through the door sometimes, never mind a stranger

I was in a sales job years ago that involved me going into people's houses, sometimes I felt like wiping my feet on the way out

Why don’t you pay for a hotel then you won’t have to go to anyone’s home.

Hillside desolate

I'm having someone over to mine next week and I'm stressing about making sure it's tidy, so keep telling me how shit everyone else's house is, it's making me feel better.

Oh my god I've been into some right pits, don't know how they live that way but each time been a really nice person or couple, I suppose we don't always realise our own surroundings

Did he have a wooden leg and a parrot on his shoulder?

So what standards are we going to be expected to adhere to?

Is washing on the bathroom radiator acceptable? Do we need to know the lawn?

Honestly one person's tidy is another person's tip.

In my happy place

Scruffy beds and floors on profile pics are helpful.

Means i say no quickly.

My bf has giggled numerous times at me dressed in black lace lingerie scurrying round with the hoover when we've got someone coming over to play. The number of times he's said "ffs chick, the only one staring at the floor is gonna be you!"

Yeah i don't expect a deep clean but floors and surfaces isn't too much to ask.

Central

The rating would only be valid for that one moment in time and would also be a subjective opinion.

If people have a crisis day, they will not be focused on provision of a high grade knocking set.

In any event, guests are fortunate to have been invited and experienced someones private abode.

If you want to view their place, request a video tour or take them a meal, for a social. I know some pics show bits of mess quite often but you can always pay for or provide accommodation yourselves insread.

Although our house is tidy, it's so rented and over 100 years old. We do keep it clean, but things like the skirting boards and walls have seen better days. Last time we invested money the landlord sold it from under us. Sadly its a balancing act with us

I started this same thread once and received a load of complaints, ranging from “you’re being rude and why bring people down?!” to “what has that got to do with anything!!”

However you’re absolutely right. The times I have hosted, I have always ensured the house is spick and span with a couple of nice candles on (I do love clean and gorgeous scents!).

I have, on two occasions now, been to accommodations which are pure filthy. Musty smell, clearly UN-fresh bedsheets, and the worst worst thing, such dirty flooring that debris and dirt gets stuck to my feet.

It’s just not nice to visit a setting which is disgusting. It doesn’t have to be surgically sterile, but clean and fresh is a must!

Serendipity

If you get there and feel uncomfortable because it’s unclean, in your eyes, just leave.
